CHECKING FOR BOWEL CANCER COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE - SYMPTOMS
Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo
A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit
Unexplained weight loss
Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason
A pain or lump in your tummy
In the UK you can have a colonoscopy from age 45 or earlier if there's someone in your family line with Bowel Cancer.

Thanks for sharing this. Watching vlogs like this made me feel less alone when I had mine done. I was struggling with symptoms when Naomi was diagnosed and it made me ask for a colonoscopy. Came back negative. Appreciate my health so much now. Never take it for granted

So brilliant you got the all clear and got checked - I just think making it normal and showing that it’s not uncommon can only be a good thing xxxxx

I just came across this video but I have stage IV colon cancer as well and I’m only 26. I don’t have it in my genetics, but my whole family is getting screened now too. Thank you for raising awareness for getting checked out, it’s so important and can save lives!

Thank you to you and your sister for bringing awareness, especially the fact that younger people can get it too. So many younger people's symptoms/complaints are being dismissed and they are being told they're too young for it and are being diagnosed too late. I'm stage 4, like your sister. I was diagnosed in 2018, after nearly dying. I've been fighting since then.

Being younger ironically works against patients because firstly they get diagnosed later and secondly it tends to be more aggressive with faster cell regeneration. I would have thought with so many young fatalities it would be obvious Cancer has no regard for age. We need to insist on getting tested even if the risk is low, when there are symptoms.

Thinking about you and Naomi all the time. I’m listening to your podcast from the beginning again because I just enjoy it so much even though my baby is about to turn 1 and I don’t currently need a baby name. I never had any siblings and always wished for one. The relationship you two have is very special and I just love listening to the two of you. I hope the trial she is doing works for her. Sending my love from Idaho!

So thrilled to hear you're all clear SJ! That is such comforting news. Sad to hear the chemo's not doing what you had hoped it would for Naomi though. Keeping her and the rest of your family in my prayers. ❤️

I just did it here in the states with no history, but you made me do what I should have last year. I had to drink 8 cups of water mixed with the laxative and lemon flavor…it didn’t taste terrible it had a weird texture. By the 5th cup I had enough but kept going. Then I had to get up at 3AM and take 4 more cups. But I got a clearance of no test for 10 years!

Such an important topic to bring light to SJ. I really apprecitated your vulnerability on your experience because so many people seemed to be embarrased about it and avoid it all together! My parents have both gone through this process and shown how important it is to check for cancer whether it runs in the family or not. So happy to hear you are well and I am wishing you and your sister nothing but happiness and healthiness now and forever. 💛

Three years ago I had stage 3 colon cancer. Thankfully I am ok now. But in the process, I found out I had Lynch syndrome. Which is a predisposition for cancer. I have colonoscopy once a year. My prayers go out to you and your sister

I've been having colonoscopy and endoscopy every year for the past 3 years since I was 30 as I have Lynch Syndrome, I found out from a genetic test at a hospital that my dad has specialist at, as my dad had colon cancer and most of his siblings sadly passed from cancer.

Even if you were disposed to it genetically, epigenetics thankfully proves that our environment is what determines whether or not these genes are ever expressed, so it’s not something that’s entirely up to fate and we do have control over our health, which can be quite jarring for many because it often means that then we have to really look at why we became sick - but the flip side is that we can also become our own healers. In fact, this is the most powerful factor of healing 🤍 It can be a beautiful journey of empowerment and evolution!
