You made a sarcastic remark about the keyboard being awesome and responsive at 12:45 saying, "it really listened to what I did." The reason that the rhythm you played was not recorded was because you had quantize at 100. So the OPZ automatically quantized your inputs, removing the rhythmic swing of your organ line.

I absolutely love your ability to build an arrangement & mix where each instrument occupies its own space and can be heard distinctly. You really have a knack for it and I can’t think of anyone who does it better. Is it time consuming for you to create a piece like the one at the end? I really enjoy letting my brain hop around from sound to sound, shifting focus. Now I’m just rambling, lol. Great work!

Thanks Jeremy for the update! I’m going through some beginner hiccups as well but I am loving the op-z so much. I feel it’s heading in the right direction even with the glitches and it’s cool how it really focuses my creativity. I also learned a cool trick and wanted to share since you seem to really like the mixer. Did you know that if you press and hold the mixer button while pressing the menu button it will “sticky” the mixer page and leave it there until you change screens?

They actually just released an electric piano engine with the last firmware update! I've really been enjoying it, it includes a couple really good presets for Rhodes sounding keys as well as some softer ones.

I spent some time on unity trying to decipher video packs especially the ones provided by Takahashi, I only managed to replace 3d models but the interaction is still opaque to me. Unity listens to midi events from the OPZ. Scene cuts, effects and pretty much anything you can imagine can be programmed within each scene on Unity and triggered by whatever midi event, that mean every scene you download could be reacting differently to your midi sequence. One cool thing is that you can hook the OPZ to unity and use your computer as video output which opens the door to multiscreen and custom resolution setups.

Nice one Jeremy! Super keen to try the new fx & synths, tho apprehensive about the video glitches. I managed to install some of those packs from Keijiro a while ago and they've been fine on my ipad. Those purple unity glitches were present in the first iteration of the Android OP-Z app too... Think they're fixed now. 🎧💙👍

I'm not sure why they changed how the videopaks respond to triggers. I remember when it first came out you pretty much just used the video track to program cuts and effects, which made sense. Now because it responds to everything it just ends up being a hot mess of visual garbage. Weird choice.

I've kind of given up on messing with additional video packs or with doing anything ever with the DMX lighting controls. I do love that they keep enhancing the synth engines and capabilities of this device though. Just keeps getting better and better.

Hi, great content and amazing videos. Found you channel during the spring and am absolutely hooked. A question that came in mind is that you haven't posted to many videos of the OP-Z. After almost two years, do you think it's a good buy seeing you don't use it as much as you used the OP-1 when you got that one. Or is the lack of videos mostly due to that you have other more capable gear at your fingertips like the digitakt & circuit etc? Considering buying one for 350€. regards from frequent viewer from Sweden (which seems to deliver you favourite gear haha)

In many 3d packages that purple color indicates a missing texture. My guess is there’s something wrong in how the various files of the pack are organized

Purple parts are probably missing textures. Make sure the path to the texture is correct. Maybe you can see what the folder structure is from the visualization that does work. It could also be that the visuals of the working visualization isn’t using any textures at all though, looking at the graphics. Would love to check it out but don’t have a OP-Z

Only thing that's missing now is paging in the sequencer. I mean, come ooooon - do it already TE! It's a sequencer, not a tape recorder, after all. Give me access to my steps! I'd even accept it if it was only accessible in the app. E.g. change view from all to 16-step pages in the app's sequencer view and then page through them. Please give me access to what I recorded! Right now, I have to store the MIDI externally for long patterns. Not really the untethered experience the OP-Z provides for everything else.

Awesome video per usual! Just a quick note as to why the chords you recorded didn't sound as you thought - I believe it's because each step in the chord can only save 4 notes, and on occasion your chords played would overlap on a single step, so it would get confused and save only a sub portion of them.

On Kejiros github discussion page he says that the most current versions are not compatible with the app or the latest unity package. They broke this after the 2nd OP-Z app update. I was using kejiros stuff so much! Switched over to photo magic for visuals.

Here are instructions on how to rebuild the VideolabTest videopaks: op-forums.com/t/videolab-object-appearing-black-when-exported-to-op-z/16976/6 . The magenta coloring is caused by the fact that the shaders aren't loading properly when built with the old version.

The Op-Z is cool and all but the OP-1 looks nicer to use. I wanted to buy the OP1 when I found your channel, I wish I did, the price was around 600 quid *UK, now it's too expensive, and the OP-Z is not the same #firstWorldProblems

Do you guys know if theres a way we could all get in contact with teenage engineering and mildly spam that we want the videopaks fixed? Like I'm sure they know it needs fixing but just to make it known that this is a really in demand feature. I also agree that we NEED access to our steps! So annoying that to get a complex sequence into the thing you need to record it, and often quantizing it completely changes it.

The purple colors are shaders in Unity not working. Your iPad might be too old.

I just can't figure out if I want this thing or not. Sound is good, video is not something I really care about. I've heard that it's durability has problems though. It also seems like they are more interested in the Apple side of phones/mobile. I'm not on that.
