Excellent analysis and insight into the historical allusions in the poem. Tbh I assumed King Cole was Nat King Cole... 😂Born in London in the 90s dem never told me about King Cole, Dick Whittington or his cat lol

Thank you! Ah haha yes, Nat King Cole would be my preferred 'King Cole', but I suspect it's likelier that Agard was alluding to the English nursery rhyme Old King Cole 😉

Thanks for the lovely feedback - I appreciate you :) Unfortunately I don't think I'll work on 'Sign of Four' because it's too niche for my total audience (which is a global one), but perhaps you can suggest some literary skills / other more popular authors / texts for me to consider?
