Once you decide to buy a #dishwasher, you have to ensure that you have certain things ready so that the dishwasher can be connected and made opeartional from day 1. Here in this video, I have explained all those things which are essential to fix a dishwasher in your house.
The drain arrangement for sink shown in the video is applicable for built in dishwasher too.
All these are very important. I get queries regularly from my viewers on one or more of these requirements.

Very informative video. I am planning to buy siemens dishwasher. From the top of the dishwasher, at what height shall I fix the Tap. Because above the tap there will be a marble platform. Also can the outlet pipe directly connect to the Sink main outlet keeping the slope from dishwasher to the main outlet?

Things like dishwasher tablets/detergent, salt, cleaning liquid, should be purchased before hand so that one does not get looted by exorbitant prices charged by the installation team. Great video man!! A diagram to help us understand is cute.

Thank you for the details. Would the normal PVC pipe withstand the heat of the hot water drained from the dish washer ? Or do we need to fix any other type of pipe for it ? Is there a type of dishwasher that washes with the normal cold water without heating it ?

Hi, since the dishwasher uses water at temperatures between 45 deg C and 70 deg C, the normal PVC is not sufficient as PVC cannot withstand that much temperature. It is better to go for other pipes. There is no such thing as a cold wash in a dishwasher.

Hi, the lower the TDS the better the washing quality and usage of salt and detergent, which means that soft to medium hard water is preferable. TDS less than 300 ppm will be most ideal, although the dishwasher will work for higher TDS also, for which more salt and detergent will be consumed. Thanks.

Just like a washing machine, the dishwasher has an in-built heater. You can just connect the cold water supply at the inlet. Based on the program selected hot water will be supplied at temperatures ranging between 45⁰C to 70⁰C.

Hi, Thanks. I have 8 place setting Voltas Beko dishwasher which is performing well. I do not have the Beko 14 place setting dishwasher. But many of my viewers are using it and are happy with it. Beko is a reputed dishwasher brand in Europe/Asia and in India they are with Tata. So you can go for it. In case you still have doubts about the same, you could go for Bosch. I have been using for nearly 9 years and am happy with it. Thanks.

Hi Bhuvana,All ur dishwasher videos are wonderful,a clear guidance to laymen,jus bought mine & the first wash I did only with a fortune tablet as the salt,rinse aid & detergent is yet to arrive, but thought the tablet will do the job of everything, everything was squeaky clean but I had water droplets on all the utensils,y is tht so? Thanks for your appreciation and your wishes, Lakshmi!🙏 Congrats on your new purchase. You have not mentioned about which program cycle you've used. If it's Turbo cycle in which you've faced this issue of water droplets, then let me tell you that Turbo cycle does not have drying. So you've to give some time for the dishes to dry. Leave the door slightly ajar few minutes after the cycle gets completed. Let it remain like that for half an hour or so. Then if you open the door fully, you will not see any water droplets on the dishes.

Hi Bhuvana .. I have ordered 12 place setting Bosch dishwasher. We live in rent house so I ordered standalone dishwasher . We have enough space in kitchen like 12x10 . But I cannot fix it under gas stove . I need to drag near to sink to link inlet and outlet everytime I use. Even for that I need movable stand I think. Could you please suggest good stand and required extension pipes for inlet and outlet along with tap connection. Thanks in advance!

Hi Prashanthi, thanks for your query. I have to tell you that it is not suggested or recommended to keep the dishwasher in such a manner and keep moving it everytime. There are quite a few reasons for this - 1. The water connection pipe is threaded type. This does not make it convenient to fit into the tap every time and remove it. Even if one were to do this, this is likely to give rise to leakages. It needs to be fitted to the tap or water inlet on a permanent basis. 2. Similarly the drain arrangement needs to be connected in a certain manner along with a high loop arrangement. I think my video explains this. Dishwasher is a fairly heavy equipment weighing more than 50 kgs. Although you can use a stand, it is not possible nor is it recommended to keep on a stand with wheels. This is why the stands for dishwasher and front loading washing machine have fixed legs. Hence I would request you to fix the location of your dishwasher and then make water supply and drain pipe arrangements near that location, rather than thinking of an arrangement to keep moving it everytime. So please call a plumber and get the water inlet and drain pipe arrangement done as shown in my video or mentioned in the manual. Thanks.

Very useful Can I put the dishwasher on the movable trolley? As I am not interested giving it a fixed place.whenever need I can bring it to the inlet and outlet water taps?

@chitra lakhotia Actually dishwasher is ideally kept at a fixed location. You could go in for a trolley if you wish to get some ground clearance at the bottom. But moving it everyday might not be a good idea. One thing, the machine is heavy, even with a trolley it would require some effort to move it everytime. Secondly the dishwasher water inlet pipe is normally a threaded connection as shown in this video. You will find it inconvenient to fix the water pipe everyday and remove it everyday. This is not at all convenient, and even if done, you will start facing leakage at the threaded connection, water dripping, etc. Outlet pipe will not pose a problem. Hope this will help you understand. Thanks.

Hi, it will work for salt water upto a certain hardness. It is for this reason there is a water softening system in every dishwasher and dishwasher salt is used for the purpose which will soften your hard water. It is not necessary that you should have pure/soft water. Anyway, you can get your water hardness checked before buying.

That should not be a problem. You can use it if you have place to put in both the hoses, otherwise you may have to keep using one at a time.

Hi madam up to how much TDS level of water Dish washers works. In my area TDS of water is around 500.

Hi Avnesh, dishwashers work well upto a water hardness of upto 700 ppm. I would suggest you to get your water tested for hardness before you plan to buy a dishwasher.

Hi Kalyani, water consumption is based on the program cycle. The maximum consumption of water in this machine is 19L which is less than a bucket of water and the minimum is 9L. But in the latest models, the water consumption is even less.

Hi, we get many water softeners online but most are just filters. If you contact any water treatment person, they will suggest some water softener. They have to be connected in a water supply pipeline. Water softeners are generally ion exchange type with resin and they need salt regularly for regeneration. I am sharing a few links but please do not buy just because I have shared. Hi dear... Bosch has provided with tablets and rinse aid as a compliment.. No salt... I have ordered online but will take few days... Can i use the dishwasher with tablets andwithout the salt till i get the stock..

Hi, you have not mentioned about your water hardness. If the water is soft, you can use only tablet without waiting for salt and rinse aid. The salt in the tablet takes care only upto certain level of hardness. If the water is hard beyond that, you have to wait for salt. That is better. Also it's not advisable to run the machine without salt for a long period, even if you use tablets. Thanks.

Hi Mayuri, the inlet pipe is of standard length with end fittings, so it cannot be extended. The outlet/drain pipe may be extended.

Hi Nihal, water contains a lot of salts and minerals. When you say hardness it means the amount of calcium and magnesium present in water, which causes lime scale formation. Testing in a lab is the best way, though you get TDS meter which will not give the correct picture of your water quality. Hope this clears you doubt. Hi Bhavani, white residue is basically due to hard water. If you adjust salt level in your dishwasher based on your water hardness, you will not get any white residue. Please check out all my videos on dishwasher in my channel. You will get more information and clarity. Thanks.

At my area ground water hardness is 310 dds and and corporation cauvery water hardness is 200 dds .. should I buy 'Boach' dishwasher, your suggestion need to me to buy Dishwasher, please kindly inform 🙏

Yes, you can go for Bosch dishwasher. Your water does not seem to be very hard.

I am using both my Bosch and Voltas Beko dishwasher. I use Bosch mostly and for any additional half load I use the Beko.

Hi Ambika Priya, I usually soak my idli plates before loading in the dishwasher. And based on how sticky they are, I select the program. So most of the times I get 100% clean plates. Occasionally if I wash them in short cycle, there would be some particles sticking which I wash under running water immediately.

Hi Ambika, I forgot to mention that this is for steel idli plates. If they are aluminium you can wash them in any program but only in short low temperature cycles, else they will get discoloured.

Hi Lakshmi, Some of these adaptors are not available online. If we get a wrong size, then it is difficult to return/replace. It is advisable to call a plumber and get the adaptor from a nearby plumbing items shop. Thanks.
