At 35:15, instead of ...Bxd5, black might play Qxa2. This prevents Rd2 (...Qa1#), weakens Re1 (...Qa1+, Kd2 ...Qxb2 or ...Bxd7, black loses rook on a8 after the knight fork/discover check, but that rook isn't doing anything anyway, black can recapture with the bishop, and the queen is on a more active square, linked to the bishop and still alive), probably provokes the knight fork before the rook move, so Ne7+, but black's queen on d5 or b2 can come to the defense of the black king which is on f8 after the knight fork. Black can even gain a tempo after the knight fork by d5, provoking a queen trade which GM Finegold said white wouldn't do due to tournament rules. At the very least, this stalls the attack, saves the queen, or simplifies the position to provoke a draw. Qxa2 at 38:00 as well strikes me as the best move. Thoughts?
@ZiggyZugzwang
@ZiggyZugzwang 8 жыл бұрын
+That1GuyWhosNumber1 at 35:15 the white move is Qxg5. So you're saying Qxa2 now? It's mate in 2 or 3 moves with Bxg6+.
