Legends of cricket series episode 4 are one for the history books. Kris Srikanth or cheeka talks about his experience in facing some of the world's deadliest bowlers in his era. The 4 fast bowlers he talks about include Malcolm Marshall, whispering death - Michael holding, Andy Robert's, and the "big bird" Joel garner.
Cheeka gives his view on why these 4 were so deadly and what made them a nightmare for the batsman. He goes on to say the different specialties of each of the deadly 4 and finishes off in his usual style.
Hope you enjoy this episode and the best part of this episode is it has subtitles in English for the people who can't understand Tamil. Legends of cricket are bought to you by Zealcity Studios and

Greenidge, Roberts, Clive Lyod, Vivi, Walsh, Marshal, Holding.. ithellam kekkum bothey udambu la silurthu pogum!!! Then I started watching the old videos of these legends. While hearing this, i had many questions on myself.. why I was not born in 1970s to 1980s.. I am playing cricket from 10th std. Still remember seen a few matches where Malcolm Marshal & Holding terrorised opposition..New generation would never able to understand the beauty of Gavaskar who faced these fearsome 4 and got his double hundreds.. As cheeka said, it's either injury or broken bones..The beauty of test cricket at its best. They may not be rich.. But they lived in our minds.. The fiersome 4!!

Fearsome four the best and the most intimidating pace attack ever ....one among many reasons why cheeka Sir is a legend...he faced them without wearing helmet... cricket has changed and its purely a batsman game now...they should bring back bouncy tracks and allow 2 bouncers per over in all format to make the game evenly poised...

Bouncer has to be either Roberts as he had two or garner as like cheeka explained due to the point of release being 12 to 13 feet from just of length he could get the ball to come up at the face which no batsman could anticipate correctly and he could move the ball too which meant the bouncer followed the batsman making it very difficult to play or avoid, to top it imagine that being bowled from around the wicket. Imo Garner

I think one person you probably missed out was I think one generation before was Wes Hall (he was a master at terrorizing batsmen) as well. The main difference between West Indies and other bowling - was no sledging and absolute gentlemanly way of playing and letting skill do all the talk - I have nothing but respect!

My grandpa also used to talk just like Cheeka sir. Even he used to talk about these fast bowlers. Sad to see west Indian cricket in the current state.

Cheeks, during 1984 one day series, I also felt what you said, over after over, batsmen faced fast bowling. Even as a audience, we were breathless. Eppada, yaravudhu spin pods matagala nu irrkkum

Larry Gomes used to bowl those odd one or two spin overs.

I wish I could understand Tamil language. I'm excited to hear it from none other than Srikant sir who faced this fearsome attack. I still remember watching the 83 world cup matches, followed by WI tour of India.

I really appreciate you all at those time who played against the deadly Windies bowlers without proper gear unlike today's batsman who have all the proper gear
