cheer isn’t just a sport it’s a dangerous sport you try, try, try again and if you fail you keep trying if your hurt then you keep trying and also you have family there too. it’s not just a thing. it’s a sport.

I think it just reminds me of how much Malieya tried. Like she was getting yelled at but clearly the mess ups were front exhaustion, not lack of skill. Idk it just hurts me to know now that, that’s how so many people judged her. Before any of us knew the situation.

I agree. I'm nearly constantly anemic and I remember in high school I was volleyball and we didn't know. During practices I would turned white. Everything would turn black, and it would get hard for me to breathe. I was able to talk and hear, but everyone was so scared because I would just have to stop, and I was known for pushing myself. During ladders I would feel it start and I would start walking back and forth between the lines and my coach and teammates would be yelling at me or saying "keep pushing" because they didnt know what was going on. And then I'd just sit down off to the side and practically fall asleep against my will while they tried to get me to drink water and put ice on me. I had echocardiograms done, my brainwaves were measured, and a couple other things. Nothing ever came back, so we summed it up to iron. I graduated so I havent pushed myself as hard as I did then, so we don't know if that's truly it or not, but I feel better overall since starting iron supplements.

Starting crying right away. As a coach seeing one of your kids get really hurt is devastating especially when you can’t fix it and listening to her beg Orby for help over and over was really hard for me. I miss my athletes so much right now they are my kids. I’m praying we get back to normal soon.

I can strongly relate to the girl that had seizures in many ways I used to be a cheerleader and in fact, used to have seizures(epilepsy) I was lucky enough to have gotten medication that helped stop them and now I have not had one in years and fortunately don't have to take medication but watching this made me really feel for her

I am a cheerleader,and i know what these girls go through. ITS EXTREMELY HARD, DANGEROUS,AND IT TAKE A LOTTT OF EFFORT. Some people don’t realize it,but cheer is one of the hardest sports there is, so please dont act like cheerleaders are not real athletes,they are some of the most athletes we have!

Other sports do it too. In some band competitions if someone passes out or gets injured the show must go on, places actually give extra points for not stopping and remarking to avoid hitting them

I'm sure hailey has went to multiple drs so there is no need in diagnosing her or telling her what she should do. They didn't show the entire situation when it happened. chill again with the suggestions. That is an old video and she is grown and is, I'm sure, well versed in seizures.

With the girl who had a seizure, you should never move her from where she’s at on the floor. Just make sure that her head is supported and wait for paramedics. I’ve worked with students who have seizures and it’s scary.

My mother has/had epilepsy when she was a kid, she still has it but takes medicine, she was also a cheerleader. I’m so glad to know that the one girl had a coach who understood her and can tell when she is gonna go into a seizure

My dog has it and it’s not the same bc it’s a dog vs a human but I was the only one home and she had a seizure and I had no clue what to do and it’s very scary so I hope that it never happened to you 💕

When Hailey had the seizure 🥺💔I can relate to that so much as I have epilepsy myself and luckily on the 4th of July this year I managed to finally hit 5months seizure free in my entire 17 years of living 😁💜

I saw many breaks in my high school cheerleading career but when i was dropped straight on my head during a half time football game, i never flew the same after that. It was my senior year just a couple of months before state when it happened and so I literally couldn't the same stunts after that accident no matter how much I tried to overcome it. It sucked bad!

ik it’s a slight bit more dangerous ( cause yk, flying poles and weapons and shi ) but these accidents are why i stuck with colorgaurd and wintergaurd. we have the same mat talk and the same encouragement and love and family. we LIVE for technique and performance in the same way. just some broken fingers and concussions. yk occasionally we hit a band kid but...🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel these kids pain. I did a cartwheel in the hall and my supporting foot fell from under me and I feel down the stairs and ended up cracking my wrist

Most cheer coaches would just say suck it up and walk it of but I could tell he cares a lot such a good coach

They are being so calm. So a few weeks ago one of my friends dislocated her elbow she was on the team above me and we had like all the coaches going over to see what happened to her then my mom walks in and tells me to go get my dad after I tell her what has happened my dad’s orthopedic surgeon so I rushed outside and grabbed him and they end up popping her elbow back in place but now she can’t go to Summit.
