I watched Cheers when I could but I missed alot I didn't realize Frasier and Lilith had so much development of there characters.

Likely staying in the role of his character helped keep him together. Kelsey Grammer had his fair share of problems, issues and trauma. They did make a jok about it in the final season of fraiser with his First wife

They serve imitation seafood. Instead of lobster they served something called lube-ster. Norm ate there all the time.

So whether this was the basis or not, I've long figured Lilith to be an example of autism in females. Several characters in Cheers could be seen as autistic based on certain tenancies, but at that time people would have compared it to "Rainman" and claimed Cheers was wrong until about 20 years later. Many Autism and ADHD "symptoms" used to diagnose are based on the cPTSD of being neurodivergent, with society trying to bully is into a standardized way of thinking. This causes many of the autistic "symptoms" we think of in men (often like Cliff), but this cPTSD in females can look like the repression Lilith had. This is especially common with pushing of gender norms in that time period: The likely reason 30% of autistics are LGBT compared to 3% of neurotypicals. One may say "it's not that serious", but that's why so many ended up not diagnosed. There's still too many women who live half their lives undiagnosed because we get gaslit by statements like this. Diane is also what Autism could look like, but with just some repression rather than cPTSD. I honestly feel that watching this would be good for psych students to write an essay on characters to identify what they would diagnose them as: Those without experience with Autism may diagnose Norm as OCD, but those who studied after 2015 would likely consider him on the spectrum.
