Filmed in the masai mara, 4 cheetahs loose track of there intended gazelle target!!

this is not mistake of camera holding, in high resolution cameras, when you focus in and out, even small hand movement, manifest in large deviations.

I don't always film cheetahs chasing furry things...but when I do, I make sure I develop Parkinsons disease as soon as I press record. Lovely sky btw 👌

The jackal wasn't prey. It was just a nuisance they felt the need to run off. You can tell by the cheetahs' stance that they weren't truly trying to catch it.

Charlie She was teaching the youngsters how to hunt. She started the run and drop off so they continue with the chase and learn.

No you dont understand that cheetahs see jackals as a nuicense and dont want the close so they chase them off makibg sure to keep some distance because a jackal can do damage to the cheetahs and cheetahs cant risk injury if the cheetahs want him dead they would have used full speed ( 120 kph) besides jackals are not on a cheetahs menu.

Yeah wtf did you watch? The jackal outmaneuvered the cheetahs. In a straight up race the cheetahs would've smoked him but the jackal was too agile

Cheetahs are one of the only cats that don't kill for fun and if they caught it, they would've bullied it or eaten it but they probably wouldn't have killed it and left it there and by the way they also looked full

The Cheetah is primarily a solitary creature. In order to compete with Lions and Hyenas who happen to be pack hunters; Cheetahs evolved and developed coalitions. I strongly believe that Cheetah social and hunting habits will continue to evolve into pack hunters similar to Lion Prides and Hyena Clans.

If that happens the dynamics would change completely. Thinking of the wild dog population only really compete with hyenas who compete with everyone. There would end up being pack fights between wild dogs and cheetahs since they compare in size and eat the same things. Leopards would get bullied more by cheetahs and depending on how fast they start breeding the packs could be huge. Prides of cheetah could be a huge problem.

@@dwanrobinson I love cheetas. They r a real different type of cat. Smaller muzzle, they don't roar, non retractable claws, more tameable than most any other of the large cats. They r picked on by all the other cats cause they're not as strong. 🐈

@@dwanrobinson If prides of cheetahs could b a problem then r lion prides a problem? Too many cheetahs hav been annihilated by lions and hyenas. That is why there r organizations that routinely protect them. Leopards can always climb trees to escape cheetahs as cheetahs cannot climb after them. Wild African dogs r smart enough to know how to avoid cheetahs. Whatever it takes to get the cheetah off the endangered species list is okay by me.

It's the jackal's mouth that saved him. He turned to ward off an easy kill, that was enough. He never allowed a full run, trip, and take down which is the cheetah's preferred method of killing. The cheetah wants no fight, that's it's style.

Cheetahs are littler bit faster than Jackals but the Jackals has more agility to make change of direction too fast that it's almost impossible to catch them.

Jackal's can motor, easily being smaller and more agile than the big cats. It's unusual for them to hunt a Jackal I think you may find it was as Mother Cheetah with almost full-grown cubs, practicing. their killing technics. Whoever was filming it, ruined it really. Shame.

the cheetahs weren't hunting it they were practicing and the jackal isn't as agile or fast, but it's smaller, making it a harder target and it has more stamina.

These are young cheetahs, they are seeing what will run from them and what they need to run from. The truth here is if they caught the jackel it would have most likley done more damage to them. These Cat's are easily damaged which mean they can't hunt and as a result die.
