The video has good information. what a shame that a bunch of shills for specific brand of meat thermometers use this venue to endorse their product in the "comments". Anytime I see something like this I make it a point to write the name of it down so I'll remember to not only *NOT*purchase the product, but also not purchase any other products that company sells.

This is the only video that remotely shows how to use this tool. I’m a new cook with a huge learning curve and I thought it was self explanatory, but when I tried using it, the display went blank. So I didn’t know to turn it on first or not. Then I didn’t realize to use an oven mitt when pulling the probe out. Let’s just say I’ll never do that again. But I’ve watched so many videos that really don’t show you how to use it. They just assume u know stuff. You’ve given me the closest idea of how to use it. Now, I need to figure the rest out through trial and error I guess. I just don’t want to break the darn thing. I do not how to use it with the oven probe part. But I need the oven probe way so I don’t burn my food. Lol. Don’t laugh y’all. If anyone can confirm whether the screen going blank while the probe is in your food or is this a sign a doing it wrong. If anyone could fill me in that would be great. I’ve been cooking from scratch for 7 months. I don’t make many turkeys so I don’t have enough to practice on.

Changed the batteries on my thermometer(the hinged model)since all it would do was click and very light. After changing batter. Unit still only blinks. What could I try to fix?

But what about the thigh area? That area takes a lot longer to get to the safe temp. Shouldn't the probe go there to ensure a properly cooked bird?

👉When he says carries over to 165, does he mean letting it rest to 165 in the oven? THX🙂

No the turkey comes out, and rests on the counter. I put tin foil around mine, which works well. The meat will continue to cook and temp will rise alittle after coming out of oven. Rest for 15-20mins.

Appreciate Video! Sorry for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Our butcher mentioned that i should use a thermometer to avoid overcooking and he recommended the 'Chef Remi Cooking Thermometer' (I'm sure he said you can buy it on Amazon) Do you use a Chef Remi thermometer? The butcher mentioned its very accurate and has a lifetime guarantee.

Great Video clip! Do you use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of your meat? Last weekend, the hosts of a bbq I attended recommended I should buy a 'Chef Remi Cooking Thermometer' (I think he mentioned you can buy it online on amazon) as its very accurate and has a lifetime guarantee. I would appreciate your thoughts if you have used this model before?
