We were absolutely dire tonight. Manu woke up in the second half thank god or it would have been 7-0 at least. Nobody turned up from north London today other than Emma Hayes. Worst performance from us for years by miles. So frustrated.

This game was a nightmare to watch

1. Jonas not a good enough manager for Arsenal 2. We gave James so much freedom and space 3. The men’s team wear red socks whenever they play Chelsea away, how could they get this wrong 4. So many errors and turnovers, no one turned up Title race over!!

The sock situation was horrendous and totally unprofessional from Arsenals point of view. Russo should have started without a doubt! Jonas chewing gum in the post match interview was an embarrassment for Arsenal ! Chelsea deserved their win, they played aggressively and smartly.!

I just watched the game back and we were really bad today. The sock issue is embarrassing tbh now that you've explained. I kept thinking about the strange socks and I'm sure it played a roll in the performance. I'm hutted but the Conti Cup is our inly hope now 🙌🏾 and maybe try and nick second place with a lot of luck and better form!

As an Arsenal fan, I am not looking forward to the Conti Cup final. It is going to be really really tough. But we have to try.

Chelsea men had a similar situation as sock gate except there was more embarrassing they had to wear Coventry's away kit. I still love seeing Zola in a Cov kit. it was one of those evenings for Arsenal where everything is off - the sock thing, all the deflections went in. Manu is a good keeper but nothing is going for her at the moment. I'm also in the camp that Jonas is the right manager for them - but he has to prove it next season when Chelsea may be destabilised by Emma leaving. They can turn it around in the Conti final, they did it last season and now it's even more important. I don't interact with the social media nonsense, other than here, because people go straight for 'sack the manager' when frankly most of them haven't a clue about football.

Emma Hayes wasn't going to help Jonas out. Helping out would be: "We'll wear the Chelsea socks you had to buy so that you can wear your own." But why would she if she thought the error could potentially have anything like the unsettling effect it seems to have had? Also, delaying the kick-off at short notice for the opposition would have unsettled Chelsea just as much if not more. Possibly unsettled Chelsea simply played better than possibly unsettled Arsenal, who could not cope with James, Reiten and Kaneryd and needed a fluke to get past Hampton. And Zinsberger did nothing to reproach herself for. She was left exposed far too often and personally prevented a 5 or 6-goal rout.

I said elsewhere this week that you could just pick Barcelona as the best 11 women in world football, if they added Lauren Hemp, but this Chelsea team has got closer to them. I saw an Irish prediction of this game today and it was that Chelsea would rush Arsenal and they would crumble under pressure. What a fantastic assessment. I regularly get up at that time to take my girlfriend to work. Time for bed now, so I reckon I should put a sock in it. Jonas said pre match interview that he believes in his Plan A game so much that it basically takes him awhile before really resorting to Plan B. I don’t understand how he couldn’t see plan A was not going to plan. He needed to shift things but unfortunately too late - players too late to show up and not enough press. I think if Emma Hayes wanted to help Jonas re socks she could’ve at least offered her girls to rock the blue socks and arsenals stay in white. Sorry no ! If the socks they are wearing "gets in their heads" what does that say about their strength of character.
