I wonder if she would have a different opinion on Morrissey for one of his solo performances. I think his performing is a very appealing element of the overall smiths vibe but maybe there's some cognitive dissonance between the visual and music. So maybe a live solo Morrissey performance for the future would be an interesting experiment to find out if he may be appealing for a different vibe? I love the visuals :) He did a live performance on Jonathan Ross, "I've changed my plea to guilty" you might like that one.

I agree with Chelsea. I like their music and watching this video makes me remember why I just liked listening to The Smiths and not watching 🤭😂

I remember this being the first record by The Smiths that I'd heard, and like you Sue I really liked Johnny Marr's jangly guitar sound and the overall feel of the song .. I'm not a big fan of this particular video, as I found Morrissey's flower swinging routine a bit off-putting .. But I quite like him in a number of other videos. As for his real life personality, I've heard both good and bad about him, so don't have any firm opinion .. You have to be careful not to accept any random anecdotes as the absolute truth, as they may just be urban myths, rumours, exaggerations or made-up gossip.

@@playitagainsue I'm sounding a bit cryptic, sorry I'll explain! Someone made a comment (again not here) that during the days with The Smiths Morrissey instructed the crew (roadie's) not to look at him. Which is untrue. Sorry I replied to the wrong video.

I knew the music before I ever saw a video so I dont know how I'd respond in her shoes. I never liked watching George Michael's sing either. But his voice, cmon!

Hey Susan, great point! When we did the Smiths before, she didn't see him and loved the song so I definitely think she nailed the issue. I am that way with Celine Dion too....nit a huge fan of watching her sing but I do like listening to some of her songs 🤩

Morrissey was a bit of a puddin'(language checked) While setting up for concerts none of the crew were allowed to look at him, not in a self conscious, shy way, in an egotistical "you're not good enough to look at this magnificence" way. I Totally agree with Chels👍, the songs good but he's off putting as a buggery.

@@playitagainsue I saw a clip of some of the roadies. Allegedly, he couldn't keep a road crew and he couldn't stand the fans either.🤷♂️

Yeahg same thing here. Loves Smiths... 'Hate' Morisey Johhny Marr has an amazing singing coice too... he ( Marr) Just cant hit those really high notes.
