There's one thing I'm confused about. You said on one of your slides that London forces can be attractive or repulsive, but I thought London forces were always attractive as if there's a transient dipole in one atom, the electrons on the delta negative side of that atom will repel the electrons on the adjacent atom, making the delta positive side adjacent to the delta negative side of the atom, so it must always be attractive. Is this correct or am I missing something?
