WTF NOW it’s pissing me of. I just purchased hydro slick. Well at least I only wasted 32 dollars because I got a coupon. I’m sending it back. Wtf Im so fuc pissed of right now. I’m going to save the writing of my review till I put a coat on my car. I did do a couple of panels with it. And I must say it went on very easy and came off very easily. Removal was the same as a high-quality carnauba wax it wipes off very easy. I think you let it cure too long. Did you also put it down thin enough. If I get the same results you do you know where it’s going. Write back to Chemical guys for a refund. And I better get one. So far for me the most hydrophobic product has been. Mothers CMX ceramic spray. The hydrophobic and that product is crazy. It’s just as good as regular ceramic coating. And a close second is seal and shine along with Eagle one wipe and shine. And so far the longest lasting was or is I should say from my use is seal and shine. I don’t have the money to spend 75 or hundred dollars per product and ceramic coatings. Next on my agenda I want to try Adams 9H ceramic spray. And use their 2.0 Booster on it every 4 to 6 weeks.

Female opinion here guys! I've had Hydro Charge on my vehicle for 8 months now. Actually, since I knew that our winter could be brutal (meaning lots of No-Touch car washes throughout the season), I put on a second coat a day later (following directions to use only a few drops!). Here it is many months later after commercial No-Touch washes, manual washes, and waterless washes, and the beading is as good as it was right after application in the Fall. I recently had a minor touch up paint job done and the tech asked me what in the world I had applied to the panel because nothing would stick to it and the shine was incredible. So hey, I'm satisfied! Who would spray on heavy chemicals on their vehicle anyway -- unless you're doing a paint job?

You use Hydrocharge to revitalize and maintain your hydroslick coat. You wanna use Hydrosuds to wash it, which will also help maintain the coat instead of stripping it. These are not one or the other kind of products. They are complimentary to each other. As with any Ceramic coating, preparation is key. Make sure the paint is perfectly clean and sterile to the very definition. DO NOT rush into it. DO NOT rush applying it. 2 thin coats is much more effective and efficient than being heavy handed. Let it fully cure for 24 hours, and for the love of god do not let any moisture touch it. Do not use a moist cloth to buff it off.

There is a Chemical Guys video showing how to use them together, and they say to use HydroCharge FIRST on painted surfaces only. Then wait 3 hours, and apply HydroSlick second. Hydroslick can also be applied over headlights, glass, etc. Not sure the technical reasons for that, but that's what they say. They have a different Hydro produyct for maintenance.

I appreciated your demo, but what you must remember these products are not coatings, they are sealants. Sealants are not designed to last as long as a coating. Coating are much stronger and less forgiving. That’s why certified applicators are the ones doing them. Consumer based companies will not sell coatings on a mass basis to consumers because of the liabilities. Sio2 being in a product does not make it a coating. Remember sio2 is silica/sand, that’s what glass is made of. This is the component that provides the protection. Titanium deoxide is the component that creates the explosive color density. Coatings have both items to make them effective.

Depends what and when you buy. You can routinely buy their products on Amazon for 25% to 50% off MSRP. I'm not subject to their marketing since I am not on FB/etc so my experience over like 20 years has been based on trial and use. For example, I often pickup their Signature Series (formerly premium blue) wheel and tire cleaner for $20+ a gallon which makes 5 gallons of a great ph balanced exterior APC that's great for wheels, tires, wheel wells, bumpers, running boards, etc. for $13 you can often buy Ecosmart concentrate that makes 2 gallons of waterless wash that's every bit as good as the $40 gallon of opti-clean which is another similar product I use.

The Hydro slick needs to be applied on the applicator. Four dime size blots is all you need and you’re going in a circular motion; you’re supposed to go in a cross pattern. You apply it on one direction all the way and then when you’re done with that you cross it and you apply in the other direction. I think you applied six times the amount if not more hence why it was so hard to get off. I have not had a problem and I only use a microfiber towel with light pressure when wiping it off, never had an issue.

How many hours did you let them cure before you tried to remove them with the iron remover? Why would a product that clearly hardened in the sprayer and around the neck of the bottle not bond to the paint and come right off? Why would the results be so radically different from what Brian at Apex got for Hydrocharge? I just applied and and noticed it took a good 24 hours for it to fully cure on a freshly prepped vehicle and a brand new, unopened bottle. Maybe this stuff cures slowly and/or spoils quickly? Gloss is insane so far...see how long in lasts with just 1 coat. Did a 300 mile trip after 24 hours and truck is still squeaky clean which is a good sign. PS - I gt both Jimbo kits from Autofiber and love them. Both great kits, great products and, except for the scrubbers, little unnecessary overlap between the 2 kits. For $100 a driveway detailer could have all the quality MF towels they need for a while!

I'm sticking with the hydrocharge!! I'm on my 3rd bottle (many cars) and it's as easy as using PLEDGE on furniture. The hyperwax seems to much like old type paste waxes.

Use hydro charge, wait 3 hours. Then layer with hydro slick, Wait 3 hours. Use hydrosuds during washes to revitalize the coat. I believe you can also layer a glaze then jetseal to make sure it lasts the whole year

Thanks for doing the comparison Jimbo. To me both looks like crapy products as compared to TW Seal and Shine. To be fair and in the name of science, will you be able test this again after having the products cured for 24+ hours? Apply twice but less product this time around. Please and thanks 🙏

Aren’t you technically suppose to use both instead of one or the other if you wanted to go the full detail way they’re providing? I saw a picture from CG of their ceramic product line and how one product was used on top of the other for the best protection and shine. I do have a question… is there like no point in using just your standard buttery wax anymore? Thanks!
@grandfinish8929

Technically most folks don’t wash cars with iron removers. Most would use soap. I would have tested with other soaps and maybe dishwashing liquid to see how it holds up.

I was interested in seeing a head to head comparison of Hydro Slick and The Last Coat. But this will do and glad I went with The Last Coat. I was underwhelmed with CG Diablo wheel cleaner and was so.ewhat skeptical of this product. $40 bucks is alot to spend on a product that gives you less than stellar results.

How long did you let it cure after wiping it off? If you took it outside and sprayed it right away, thats why it came off. Suppose to let it cure for 2 to 3 hours and for best results 24 hours

@@autodetailingpodcast Great question. I just have seen their videos on them, and they used them together, with Hydro Charge as the base, Slick as the wax/top coat, and Speed as the detailer/maintainer. Haven't used them myself, but was just an observation that may have impacted results.

How would you compare the hydro charge spray to TLC2?
@FordF4NN
@FordF4NN 2 жыл бұрын
I enjoy layering hydro slick over the hydro charge (after letting it cure 24hrs) I get great durability with the combo as opposed to using just one. That's just my experience with it. Seems to hold up decent for my liking in Ohio's weather.
@VG0009
@VG0009 2 жыл бұрын
Haven't tried it yet, but CG advised the same. To use Charge first and wait for 1 hour, apply Slick, wait for 2-3 hours and then apply Speed.
@FordF4NN
@FordF4NN 2 жыл бұрын
@@VG0009 it really is a fantastic combination. Using any of the three as a standalone is going to shine and look nice but it doesn't last longer then any other waxes. But doing them in combination really seems to hold up much longer than them alone

Seems like Griot’s Garage Ceramic 3 In 1 is much better for the price than either of the Chemical Guys products. I have the HydroCharge and without using any chemicals on it, it seems to work very well. I also have the McGuire’s spray on ceramic and it seems to work very well also. Although in torcher tests, the McGuires does much better than both of the Chemical Guys products from the videos I have watched. I use both the HydroCharger and McGuires on the inside of our shower. Both seems to do very well on it and beads and repeals water for quite a long time, but the installation of the McGuires is much easier. Just spray it on and rinse it off.

Regardless of lack of cure time it cost to much , this is a $19.00 at best. And unless it lasts 120 days looking freshly waxed it’s to expensive. My issue with a lot of these coatings is you can clay , polish after decon, panel prep wipe and still only get 90 days out of these coatings ( like this one ) with all that said done both products should only be $20 after tax imo.

If you clay bar, then hydro charge followed by hyper wax it gives you amazing results. I work at car dealership and I can literally just rinse my Cherokee off and by time I drive home which is 5-6 min drive 95% of the water is gone and it looks like I got it professionally detailed. I redo it every late fall and early spring and my orange cherokee looks like the most amazing bottle of sunny delight driving down the road!

As to it coming off with harder detergent I don't mind either for me some products are way hardy if you want to re-apply or just get down to the base clear for other reasons polishing etc. Also Hydroslick is great layered for even tougher staying power
