Chemo Mitts and Slippers Review

Күн бұрынFor my second chemo infusion I decided to try out chemo mitts- amzn.to/2HO4VnC and chemo slippers- amzn.to/36i2HWV to keep my fingers and toes cold and reduce the chance of neuropathy. At my first infusion I was trying to balance cold packs on the backs of my hands and feet the whole time- quite a feat! These purpose-built cold mitts and cold slippers worked so much better. I think they would make a great gift for someone about to begin chemotherapy. There is also a "cooling cap" that some people wear during their infusions to help reduce hair loss- for me that ship had already sailed...

No problem. I see most of the people at the infusion center receiving their treatments without trying to keep their fingers and toes cooled. Even if they choose not to try it I would hope they all know that it is something they could be doing.

We are constantly keeping you and your family in our prayers. My wife and I are there for you if you need support, whether it's a shoulder to cry on someone to vent to or anything. How is your wife and kids doing? Anyhow I know you don't know us so even if you don't take us up on the offer we will still pray for you. Rob and Kim.

That's very kind of you- thank you. My wife and the girls seem to be coping okay. The oncology center offers support groups (who meet virtually now) and I asked the family if they were interested but they said they didn't feel they need that. I think they lean on their friends- even if they have to do that virtually now too.

Yeah when something it soooo cold its not a great feeling. Good idea maybe with another thin layer like u said. For sure

Sending prayers. Make sure you dont try to eat your favorite foods. Stay hydrated. And about 3 mos was about average when the side affects really started to kick in, for a lot of the kids, anyway. That was what we saw when my daughter went through chemo. Not sure it's the same for adults.

Sorry to hear your daughter had to go through this. Some of the chemo effects may be cumulative and get worse with time but I was excited to find how much fasting the day before infusion helped with the short term side effects.

Glad you found some things to help. Wish we would have known a few tricks when she was going through it all. It can be rough. She was more upset about having to wear a wig going to school. Than feeling sick. She was afraid someone would pull it off & see her bald head. Keeping you in my prayers.

Oh sure- it is healing. You should have seen it a week ago- right out of a horror movie! It will be back to normal in another week or so.

Thanks Jake! Here in Texas medical marijuana is pretty limited and it is otherwise illegal. I haven't had much in the way of issues with nausea or appetite (fingers crossed) but I sure could use help with sleep the week after my infusions.
