Күн бұрын

June, 2022, by chance, I came to a metro station in Chengdu.
At that time, I couldn't stop saying "wow" and impressed by the station for its beauty.
At that time, I decided to shoot a Chengdu Metro video for everyone.
----------------------⭐⭐
Chengdu Metro System
----------------------⭐⭐
The subway is the standard configuration of top-class cities, and it is also a symbol of strength.
In theory, the more subways are built in a city, the more developed the city will be.
The reason is that subway construction not only has strict GDP, population, and financial thresholds, but also the construction cost and operation of subways are extremely expensive. Without a strong economy as a support, the subway would be impossible to talk about.
In the past ten years, Chengdu's urban energy level has improved significantly, and the rapid development of the city has also driven the expansion of rail transit.
The Chengdu Metro is the rapid transit system of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, China. The system consists of 12 subway lines and 1 light rail line.
Chengdu Metro refers to urban rail transit serving Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. Its first line, Chengdu Metro Line 1, was officially opened on September 27, 2010, making Chengdu the twelfth city in mainland China to open rail transit.
In December 2021, Chengdu Metro will open a total of 12 lines with a total length of 518.96 kilometers, all of which use the subway system, with a total of 373 stations in operation and 46 transfer stations.
At the same time, Chengdu has become the first city in China to open five new subway lines at one time, and it is also the city whose subway operation mileage has exceeded 500 kilometers in the fastest ten years, officially becoming the “fourth city” of domestic rail transit.
By the end of 2024, Chengdu will form a rail transit network (including trams and rail transit Ziyang Line) with a total length of over 700 kilometers.
On April 2, 2021, the single-day passenger volume of Chengdu Rail Transit exceeded the 7 million mark for the first time, reaching 7.036 million passengers, and Chengdu achieved the sixth passenger flow breakthrough on the subway operation day in 2021.
On April 30, 2021, the passenger volume of Chengdu's rail transit network reached a new record of 7,224,300 passengers.
----------------------⭐⭐
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport
----------------------⭐⭐
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is an airport serving Chengdu, the capital of China's Sichuan province and a major air hub. The site of the airport was chosen at Lujia Town, Jianyang, Chengdu, 51 kilometers south-east of the center of Chengdu.
China's long-awaited Chengdu Tianfu International Airport has officially begun operations, offering travelers a new gateway to the home of giant pandas.
Its inaugural flight, operated by Sichuan Airlines, took off at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, bound for Beijing.
Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, is now the third city in the country to have two international airports, joining Shanghai and Beijing.
Constructed at a cost of about 70 billion Chinese yuan ($10.8 billion), phase one of the massive aviation hub has the capacity to handle up to 60 million passengers per year, further opening up the country's southwest region.
Three runways and two terminals, covering a total area of 710,000 square meters, are in operation. State media outlet Xinhua reported the airport will eventually house terminals covering 1.4 million square meters, capable of handling 120 million passengers annually.
The new Chengdu Tianfu International Airport was designed by a consortium made up of the China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute, China Airport Construction Group Corporation and French architectural firm ADP Ingenierie.
Phase one took five years to complete and features an array of cutting-edge technologies, including facial recognition software, self-check-in kiosks, smart security systems, self-boarding gates and AI robot concierges.
A metro line connects the airport with the city center. Hitting speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour, the train journey takes from 37 to 44 minutes. A metro line connecting the new facility to the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is due for completion in 2023.

Yeah I can see this tour will just highlight what I was saying in the last Chengdu video Max, “plan for the future and then plan some more” 😂 It’s hard to believe that all this will celebrate its 12th birthday in September. Just stop and think for a moment, 12 years ago none of it was there and fast forward to now and you’ve 373 stations network, mind blowing. The idea of giving each line an actual visual identity is great, it’s not just a line colour on a network map but station platforms and train carriages too. Line 8 with it’s green and white colour scheme is super bright. Line 5 with it’s older heritage look and darker tones used but still bright. Line 18 with it’s nods to Zaha Hadid I’d say haha superb also looks like a mini Beijing Daxing with the clinical white look. Line 6 with it’s coral looking sub aquatic look. Line 9 with it’s lilac scifi. 😂 Max using the stairs 👍 going for the Chongqing cardio workout 🤣 You go from a rail network to the airport and if it wasn’t for the scale of the public areas increasing ten fold and more one might have not noticed as the tube network and airport are all share the same build approach, well signed, spacious, clean lines, bright and airy, clean and tidy and of course copious amounts of polished like glass granite flooring 😂 Cheers for taking the time to visit Chengdu’s fantastic underground system and Tianfu Airport Max 👊 And now I’ll tell you something that made me laugh, I got on a London bus yesterday and noticed upon boarding the layout was a little different along with the decoration, I headed upstairs where I was shocked to see the roof had quite a large sun roof, the vast majority of seats had usb charging ports and the aircon worked 😂 Once the bus reached my stop I got off and as the bus pulled away I saw on the back a manufacturer’s logo, that logo was BYD haha yeah I though no wonder it was a smart bus.

“using the stairs 👍 going for the Chongqing cardio workout ” This sentence made me laugh like crazy🤣 I did do a lot of aerobic workout at the subway station in Chengdu. There were elevators and flat roads, but I couldn't help running sometimes for excitement reasons. Your summary of line 5 6 8 9 18 is very accurate and interesting. It basically covers the characteristics of these lines. You are a master of summarization. Thank you for sharing the fun facts about London. I sincerely hope that one day I can walk the streets of London and feel the charm of the world famous city. Thanks for your great comments again, buddy! Nice day!

They don't have clean tap water, the rural parts of the country live worse than most other third world countries, the CPC is a myopic governing body whose only directive is to overbuild infrastructure and show it off in videos to prove their "supremacy" over the west, as you can see, there's basically nobody utilizing this infrastructure compare that to an average dirty dilapidated station in NYC which still even with huge volume loses money, imagine the losses this system with its huge overbuilt stations experiences. I'd much rather live under a democratic government who doesn't constantly waste money on its vanity projects to the same scale as the Chinese government.

@@Dr.Kraig_Ren I live in Eastern Europe, so I know what's going on here. ''profitability and sustainability'' these 2 words do not belong in the same sentence. Sustainability is down, everything is done for short term and quick profit. Quality is down, as we lack manpower, so what we have is expensive and bad. Not to mention that we don't have enough economic funds in the first place for such infrastructure projects. There is no demand at the level where this infrastructure can make a profit, given that we don't have populations like China, but everyone drives their own car, but then we complain that traffic is too high, there are too many cars, too few parking spaces, and fuel is expensive. What China does about extravagance is because it can afford it and it can do these things, it has the money, the people, and the technology. We don't do it because we're smarter than a population of 1.4 billion who have an average IQ over 99% of the planet's population, but because we absolutely can't, from any point of view..

@@jimjimgl3 I have been to Japan, it is a developed country. How many Kms of high speed rail does China have? It has 70% of the world's total installed high speed rail and before 2008 they had 0 kms. Give credit where it's due. What China has achieved in the last 2 decades is unbelievable. It is not only in the high speed rail but in every field. The phone/tablet that you're using might also be made in China. China's rise is spectacular and some of the infra that China has built has no comparison.

@@1aZoOs Yes. Of course, they are building at breakneck speed. But at what cost? If you have a business or home in the projected path of infrastructure good luck seeking equitable payment for your land. These are state controlled industries that do what they want irregardless of societal or environmental impact. There is no denying their rapid transition into modern transportation but not all of it is good. The 2011 Wenzhou train derailment for example. And when you get on that train all your movements within China will be tracked. I've been to China a few times and it is an amazing country with smart and friendly people but their government rules with an iron fist.

@@jimjimgl3 Yeah, you're right. They passed a law couple of years ago where any pvt. company could be nationalized if China perceives threat from it's business conduct. This aspect of China is very scary. Look at Jack Ma, he was coming out for the biggest IPO of his Ant Finance but the CCP is arm twisting him to sell it for free. This is the reason why the Chinese markets and companies trade at a discount in valuation to Indian companies.

I really like the design of the new stations in the Chinese subways. Especially in Chengdu and Wuhan.Unusual patterns, shapes, bright colors, smooth lines. This is what the future looks like. Here in Moscow, part of the new, large circle line was built by one of the two largest Chinese railway construction companies. Michurinsky Prospekt station is one of my favorites. Red, shiny columns, gray, as if stone panels are installed under the ceiling, on which traditional Chinese patterns and a hieroglyph meaning friendship glow in white. The Aminyevskaya station was also designed by this company. The design of the ceiling resembles waves
