The Greater Chennai Corporation has started removing unauthorised hoardings in the city after a 120x120-foot illegal hoarding in Mumbai collapsed and killed 16 people on May 13. The GCC has removed 460 unauthorised hoardings, among which 250 have been removed along with their structures as their height was above 30 feet.
