She was a visionary with her fashion and music choices, which clearly influenced Madonna and other acts to come like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. If you are implying that Cher is not the innovator that Madonna is, you might be unaware that Cher does write some of her music, but she came from an era where writers and producers gave you music to perform. She is still a talented songwriter nonetheless, not to mention a brilliant actress and performer. I'm not saying I don't like Madonna, I just think that people need to recognize that Cher was one of the first pop divas who has influenced many artists to come after her. Oh, and she IS iconic.
