I can't begin to tell you how beautiful I think those potholders are in ALL the colors you made. They are GORGEOUS!! The colors you use in your items inspires to crochet, crochet, crochet!! I just want to make all kinds of things in those colors. I am already up to the second puffs in my Spice of Life blanket ... I just love working on it. I already know that I am making blankets for my son, his girlfriend and my sister (or maybe some of those potholders for her to put on her wall) for Christmas this year. So, I'm hoping you WILL put out a pattern for those. Oh I wish I could convey how inspired I am by the things you make. And I LOVE your daughter's bunny and fox. They are ADORABLE!

Wow! How well has your daughter done. Just amazing progress to have made the fox and outfit. I know the feeling of being proud. My daughter needed to learn a skill for her Duke of Edinburgh and she has finally ‘got it’ with crochet too. So lovely to pass the skill on to the next generation 😊.

Such beautiful flowers in the hexagons, each time you show them in a new colour they are more beautiful than the last. I love how your face lit up talking about your daughter 😍 her makes are brilliant. My mum tried to teach me to knit so many times and I could never get the hang of it even though I really wanted to. Then I sat down and watched some videos and it finally clicked, I'm 34 now and we sit in the evening knitting together x

I tried to teach my daughter crochet & knitting through the years and she never really stuck with it. All the sudden about a year ago she picked up crochet again. She has now made numerous sweaters and projects, including making things without patterns. It just blows my mind. This weekend she is co-teaching a crochet class with me at our LYS, it will be a special day.

Yes, us Yankees would call it a vest. A tank top would be a light weight cotton or other summer weight fabric. I see lots of vest patterns. They’re not as popular here. Maybe because if it’s cold enough for a knit vest, you just go with a sweater (a.k.a. Jumper)! I have seen your podcast listed on KZfaq, but thought it was just knitting. I decided to explore wnen I realized the thumbnail photo was of a beautiful hexigon afghan. It was your Roses afghan! Goodness, you’re wonderful flowers and intricate work reminds me of Jane Crow. I never enjoyed making flowers because the work is usually so detailed and using small hooks with thin yarn. Unfortunately, I have severe arthritis, so it limits me on what I can do. I liked & subd. The hexagons are so lovely, you could put them under glass and hang them up.

Oh, wow. All of your crocheted Painted Anemones are absolutely stunning! I loved the first four with Kath Kidston colorways, and then you began showing all of you other color combinations, and I’m in love. I agree that that a cluster of them hung on the wall would be lovely. I would probably add a stabilization backing to keep it from curling or sagging over time. I may need to make some as I am nearing the end of my current crochet blanket project. I also have the Polsden Wrap pattern and yarn ready to cast on. Mine will also probably end up being a gift. I make things often just because I want to make it, and tuck it away in my gift drawers in my craft room until the right occasion comes along to present it as a gift. Yes, in America, we call that style of garment a vest. They are not extremely popular here anymore, other than with older men. They were more popular in the 80’s and early 90’s, not to say they are never worn here, I just seem to see it more across the pond.

The flower garden blocks are so lovely. I'd have to keep after it or I'd never finish it. lol Really love the potholders! I have vintage potholders and some I've made hanging on the walls in my kitchen, just down from the top (like they use to hang wall paper borders). Your daughter has done a fabulous job! . It is such a joy when your children show interest in your hobbies. My girls come and go with crochet too and now our eldest has branched out into cross stitch so we have another craft to talk about and share. Love the fox! Our youngest daughter's second project was amigurumi (at 8 yrs.old) a turtle the size of a coin, they were tears involved with that one, somehow we managed it. lol She now makes lots of blankets, mainly for gifts. In the early seventies, the crocheted motif vests were all the rage and I made myself two or three and wore them while teaching and also in summer school. Loved them. Learned out of a book to crochet, a stitch every few days at night after work, just to crochet these vests. So cool to hear that your daughter made herself one. Such creativity! I didn’t realize vests are popular again but am seeing them everywhere in every length and fitting. I usually don’t find them to my style but I’ve run across some interesting non traditional patterns…more of a vest/tunic hybrids which might entice me to add one to my queue. 😀. If you re-do the blanket pattern, you could use the picot row from the potholder, on the border of the motifs and the border of the blanket. That would be so lovely! Then you could do a crochet-along : ) And list both colorways for people to choose from. Don’t you love how generous I am with your time?! LOL

How exciting that your daughter is crocheting. I am still hopeful that my daughter or sons will become interested. My daughter does some knitting/crocheting/ sewing but flits from one activities to another with nothing quite sticking.

I just love the painted anemones! I have my stonewashed yarn to make one, but I need to get a few things finished first. For a display/ project board check out Lori Holt here on KZfaq. She makes them in several sizes for quilting projects and has a great tutorial as well.

I have done the Alice Caroline quilt and felt like you did and powered through the sewing together in a few days of almost constant sewing over Christmas! And now I think I'm going to send it to a long-arm quilter to quilt. I kind of love the idea of hand-quilting it and every stitch being hand done, but at the same time I've never hand quilted and I'm terrified of ruining what must be hundreds of hours of hard work.

The painted anemones would look great as a tablecloth and then put some clear glas or plastic over the top so they won't stain.

That Polesden Wrap would make a beautiful blanket with a few more repeats.

The wrap would make a lovely bed or table runner if it was not destined to be worn. I’m currently working on a painted anemones blanket for my sister’s wedding coming in June. Lovely pattern, and a great gift to make for an enjoyable project process.

How special that your daughter has picked up crochet again - it must make your heart zing. She's so talented too. I love her fox 🥰

Honestly, it would be great if you released the pattern for the pot holder and coaster/doily and then proceed with the blanket. Sometimes having little projects is nice to work up and be a break in between those large projects. I do think the squares will make a nice blanket but it is nice that the pattern could be flexible.

The wolf doll looks like Violets grey hound Mable. I learned to crochet when I was a kid then taught myself to knit 50 yrs later. She has done a super job i would say she is hooked ….pun intended
