I've had some wild experiences in much bigger versions of this piece of equipment myself. but man you are obviously going to get hurt doing that. Some of them drive quite fast when the boom is at just the right angle. If you take a turn too hard you can throw yourself out that way too. I have never been thrown out of one but I've definitely had a few sweaty experiences learning to drive one on very uneven Terrain.

Ahhh...the temptation of being the cameraman to just stay quiet when you could have warned the subject of impending doom. "He'll be FIIIINE," You say to yourself. Pfft.

1 Why wasn't the guy wearing a harness? I hope this man is alright. 2 He should have worn a harness and 3 he should have put some ramps under the machine. If the lift over turned, he would be thrown out, possibly crushed and definitely severely injured excluding the other people who could have been hurt.

Definitely not someone I would want on my jobsite. I’m sure there will be plenty of critics on this, but yes. None of these lifts were made to operate like this guy did. However, as someone already wrote, there should have been ramps. Even just a dirt ramp. Option B, if you ABSOLUTELY MUST drive over something like this(not sure how that would ever be the case, but anyway)he should have used the override switch, so that he could have still driven while hanging 90 degrees straight out the side. The action would have been almost none in comparison, when the tires dropped down. And last, worst option, that still would have been better than what he did, would have been to swivel 180 degrees, instead of 90. Then when the tires dropped, as long as he had the boom high enough to not smash into the ground, it would have been the opposite action as the ‘catapult’ effect he experienced. But hey, you can’t fix stupid.

Hope the guy recording got fired for not preventing this it could of went a million times worse I used to operate these boom lifts and I heard so many story's of people getting catapulted from them cuz they weren't certified like they were supposed to be in the first place although it's hilarious I am glad it didn't go as bad as it could of been.
