Meet Cheryl, age 40, from Birmingham, Alabama. When breastfeeding her youngest daughter, Cheryl thought the pain she was experiencing was a common infection that occurs in many women. However, after first bringing up the issue to her doctor during a postpartum visit, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, followed by a stage IV metastatic breast cancer (MBC) diagnosis a year later. As her community once supported her, Cheryl hopes to support others in the MBC community by sharing her story.
