Simp takes longer checkmates so the alogorithm doesn't find out he's smurfing.

I think the reason for the reversed order (can only take knights with bishops, etc.) is to allow all these pieces to capture pawns and the queen.

Wrote it backwards to highlght that only those pieces can take those other pieces. Eg, if you said Bishops can only take Knights, it only limits the bishop, nothing in rules to stop a pawn/queen/king from taking that knight also.

Clearly they should capture in the reverse order. Knights have swords (scissors), Bishops read the bible (paper), Rooks are made of stone (rock).

As much as this works because “bishop pointy” It might have been better to have knights be scissors because they used swords and spears with bishops being paper because they are part of the clergy and therefore do a lot of bureaucracy.

Even if the bad formatting would've made you change the order it would've still have been within the spirit of the challenge so long as the pieces form a circle.

The difference is in the subject of the sentence ( vs ).. which results in the reverse order, if you think of it form the perspective of the other subject. I suppose you are familiar with that way of speaking, in sentences like "you can only eat pizza with hands and spaghetti with a fork" --> it would be weird to phrase it with the alternative that you prefer for this challenge: "hands can only be used for pizza and a fork for spaghetti". Actually, it would not be weird at all now that I wrote it (and that's kind of my point). One notable distinction between the original challenge and your rephrasing at 0:14 is that the challenge specifies that it only applies to YOU, not that all captures must follow that rule, i.e. opponent's captures are exempted.

It's like "you can only eat liquid food with a straw" --> that means you can't eat solid food with it... It does not mean that you could not use a spoon to eat the liquid food as well. The way you interpreted it would have been worded: you can use only knights to capture bishops (You can use only a straw to eat liquid food)

There's actually two equally valid interpretations of the wording, but the rock paper scissors thing makes the intention quite clear. 1: Enemy knights can only be taken by bishops, etc. 2: Your bishops can ONLY take knights, etc.
