@michaelblankenau6598 fair enough.. l think as Robert showed in the game..the f7 pawn becomes a target, followed by a check on g7 with double rooks on the 7th ,it would be hard for black to avoid a draw and as far as l remember the commentators believed Gukesh was convinced he was winning, therefore he pushed for the win, you're probably right ,it may have saved him

@@lukeanthony2992Gukesh should have seen the line with Firouza playing Nf8…. Unless he was almost completely out of time . Allowing a perpetual check on the seventh for a draw is still a half point at least .
