A blunder. Rook could move to the A7 and the pawn could move on next movement. King couldn't capture it and he would be stuck. Because if white king push pawns on any other side and he reaches on 7th rank, some pawn would promote.

i did it once and the my opponent was like ILLEGAL MOVE 2(i accidentally pushed the king in a place where his rooks are so thats why its illegal move 2)HAHAH 2 ILLEGAL MOVE=OPPONENT WIN!!!!!! but then our coach came in and said no.

Good move, but if the objective is to be able to turn pawn into rook then either way would’ve been alright, it’s just whether the king wanted to save the horsey And once you move knight to c4, black king to b4 to stop advance of pawn. On the next move black king will move aside, and if white doesn’t think it through and pushes pawn to b4 as planned it will die because knight at d2 can’t save it. Then again, if white knew this, he can push the other pawns. So I assume making that knight move is for the sole purpose of saving the horsey XD

Yes but the pawn wouldn't be able to move until the rook went to another square. While with Rxg7, pawn is getting promoted either way

I was honestly thinking he was gonna take the other horsey near the end there just to add a little extra salt in the wound, even if he couldn't win lmao Also I remember looking up earlier why you'd promote a pawn to anything but a Queen, and it's this right here. Yes, Queen is usually the most powerful piece, but sometimes you need the strange movement of the knight at your hand or even just a simple rook over the Queen. It's fun to see that in action, and strange that I'm learning about Chess again from what is basically a meme channel lmao
