4:00 position is not that bad 😊for black with Nf3+ checking the king forcing to take with the queen to protect the rook. Taking the Knight opens up the file for the bishop which pins the knights pawn

0:39 the idea wasn't to make a "battery" with the pawns. He fianchettoed his bishop, meaning the bishop is very active and has great central control, and by playing e5, that bishop has no central control after a move. After that, white would likely play Nf3, defending both center pawns with the knight, which is exactly what happened. I don't know why you felt as though e5 was a move worth flaming.

At 3:50, the black knight was able to take the white knight, as it would be check. Then, no matter what white does, black’s queen would be able to take the white rook “pinning” the knight to the queen, which is another check. If white chose to move his king to H1, queen to D1 would be forced check after white plays queen to E1, then black’s queen would take the white queen, creating checkmate
