Form with a diameter of 26 cm
For the dough:
200 g butter
2 egg yolks
300 gr flour
10 g baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tsp salt
For filling:
1000 gr onions
3 melted cheese (300gr)
3 eggs + 2 egg whites
Salt, pepper to taste
3 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying
1. Peel the onion and cut into quarters into rings. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, put onion and sauté onion under a lid over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onion becomes soft and transparent. Let the onion cool.
2. For the dough, in a bowl with sifted flour, add baking powder, salt, sugar, grate chilled butter, yolks and rub everything with your hands into crumbs.
3. For the filling, in a bowl with cooled fried onions, pour in the eggs, whites and pour in the melted cheese grated on a grater. Add salt and pepper to taste and mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
4. Line the sides and bottom of the mold with baking paper. Pour half of the crumbs into the bottom of the mold. Then lay out the filling, smooth it out, and pour the other half of the crumb on top of the filling. Smooth everything evenly.
5. Bake the pie in an oven preheated at 180 degrees, top-bottom mode until golden brown (I baked the pie in the oven for 1 hour) Allow the pie to cool completely in the form, and it is better to put it in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight so that the filling becomes more stable.
