@@szinnias actually that does win the pawn back but black has significant compensation due to having a massive center pushing back white's pieces and gaining the bishop pair

I've thought about doing a variation where the board rotates 90° every 5 turns, but the pawns' directionality doesn't (so basically A-H and 1-8 stay the same) I'd call it Gravity Chess 😁

Personally if vertical chess is a thing the pawns would have to be slightly altered in that White pawns can only move Right and Black pawns can only move left. Vertical up and down for attacking.

Moves here instead of randomly giving up the knight: White rook, black knight threat, white rook, black takes knight, white takes with pawn, oh wait nvm pawns move weird.
