One other cool thing I would add, is that when you are playing someone on Lichess with the chessup board, the app does not tell you your opponent's rating, just their username. However, currently the app doesn't tell you if your opponent rage-quits, so if you're playing a longer time control you might want to log into your Lichess account on another device and see what's what if you're left hanging for a long while. Or you could just make a cup of tea. All in all a great chess thing.

I think these look pretty cool. The engine helping your friend, or being able to play with it online is cool. A lot of these products coming out at the moment and it's hard to know which one to get.

Ok, at the end you finally confirmed my suspicions that this is the board that ✋✋ was using in his game with Magnus. Geez, how did the arbiter not notice?? I guess the Arbiter from the Kasparov game with Judit from 94' is still working. 🤣

Quite a bit outside my budget range sadly. Looks really cool though and probably great to have at libraries, schools, youth centres, etc.. with adequate anti-theft precautions taken of course.

Great eBoard. However no Windows driver for now. The programmer that makes eBoard drivers (for free) on Windows OS will not create a driver for ChessUp. I hope ChessUp will collaborate with Chessbase so that their eBoard will be supported in Fritz and Chessbase.

Will the engine play like a human? Because if not, I’ll just go play stockfish on lower levels and have it repeat its move when it makes stupid blunders to lower its rating.

I have one. the hardware is pretty cool and I'm told the ios app is quite good. the android app is still behind, but they are working on it. kids love it.

I'm into chess thing myself. I had one of those kinds of chess computers 20 years ago. It was really quite nice, though it had a limited opening book.

The modern chess computers are nicer, I also owned an older one 20 years ago. I own one that's expensive ( there are cheaper) options, but it does have a wooden board, piece recognition ( you move pieces normally,) and lots of options for controlling difficulty, and style of play.
