MedCram - Medical Lectures Explained CLEARLY I have a question for x ray pros. I went to get a chest x ray done recently and i moved about a centimeter or 2 away from the board. Will that affect the outcome?
@alvaroakatico9188
@alvaroakatico9188 6 жыл бұрын
Not a Pro, but in my experiences if the x-ray tech puts you in a certain position, and you deviate from that position, the x-ray tech should've caught it, but if it didn't, the Doctor who reads the x-rays surely will see a difference even if it's slight. Also it would depend on what the Doctor is looking for in terms of anatomy of the chest when she/he ordered the x-rays. There's a reason why x-ray techs tell you to take a deep breath and hold it before the x-ray is taken; they don't want any outside interference that would make the x-ray blurry. Hope this helps.

Your videos are amazing. My medical school has tried to adopt the 'problem based learning' style of education but it has been one big fail of a transition. They tried to teach my cohort chest x-rays in 30 minutes and hired final year medical students to do the job, which turned out to be a disaster. So now I watch your videos and also read probably 10 different textbooks, and attend 0 of their so-called lectures.

I love your explanation of the organs being closer to the "film" in a PA view (that's why it's the most commonly used view in practice...) and the analogy of the "hand shadow against the wall". The good things about youtube (and YOUR videos in particular, Dr Roger!) is that I can finally clearly understand things that professors yearned to explain (unsuccessfully) to me like 10+ years ago. (I had to learn some things by heart because I couldn't understand them....which I hated...) Medicine and its concept has to be logical and clear (and practical!!). As a straight A student, I sometimes felt dumb in med school.(That's maybe because I didn't have teachers like YOU. :) But fortunately I survived those years lol.. Keep giving us doctors those precious lectures of yours! Cheers! tc
