Really internalizing these lyrics for the first time, this is really a song about someone who's complacent with getting emotionally abused by their loved one, either because they're just swallowing the pain or because it's "normal" for them at this point. It's something I can sadly relate to all too well.

I know their songs that did really well and those that didn't do so well. It all comes down to being able to relate to the song. This song did that well. This song inspired me to record and do my own music. The sound was just so unique. I've listened to every one of their albums after.

@nirvanafreak9999 Nope! The sound quality does not let you hear it clearly, but right after the bass kicks in, the low B string on Pete's guitar went out of tune! Bass was nicely in tune! By the way, the recording quality was terrible, especially on the drums! Still, great band! This performance was only spoiled (almost), by technical problems...

People fuss about the slightest mistake a band makes and that the things are out of tune, yet have never had to be on the road and up in front of any audience. I am not sure that you and I actually disagree really. I am not so much getting into semantics as those that trash a performance that have never performed.

Tuning is in C# standard. But yes, I'd have to agree with you that there's a significant difference in live and studio. This is most likely from a soundboard, I can't say the sound man was the best. The techs of bands do extensive preparation for live performances. I do realize that this is an old post.
