America's fire engines and emergency vehicles have so much prety lights and different sirens. It's like some kind of disco mobile. I like it.

Very good! Yes there is a bulb out in the front lightbar,driver's side.Sorry,but Randy and johnp,you don't win any prizes.The Airhorn switch was bad too when this was recorded two years ago.

And like I said before,it's obvious bigger is better.The bigger the vehicle,the more equipment and personnel to carry. @Tjoggiie89 Just like our fire engines--Big and beautiful. Smaller vehicles for smaller areas.Bigger for bigger areas.Bigger ambulances are usually set up for ALS care.Only so much can be done in a car.That's why we use trucks.

What a beautiful vehicle. The only thing I have a hard time with are those plastic mirrors. Unfortunately there are very few ambulances like this in Europe. Our vehicles are very primitive as well as ugly compared to the US.

I wish our ambualnces looked that nice...

Yes,you are on it.There is one switch on the center bottom console that is the Whelen Alpha Powercall tone.The main Whelen siren box didn't have a model number on it so I don't know which one it is.

I don't care what anybody else says, Whelen and a Powercall? Can't get any better than that for an ambo (since Q's just sound weird on anything but a firetruck). Now if only that had Grovers instead of what you do have on it. Besides that, it looks kick ass. Love the lighting package. All Whelen I guess?

Yellow/amber is only within the (2) surface flush mount warning lights.And the directional traffic advisor of course is yellow (or amber) at the upper rear.And it's a beautiful contrast to the red warning.

@DKruse88 Most UK Sprinters have a GVW of 4600Kgs, due to the lifting equipment and the hydraulic stretcher. Your vehicle is a similar size to the Sprinter UVM box and Jakab Modular. Lovely conversion!

@mOviestarthw12 Because American cities and neighborhoods are big.Hidden cross streets and alleyways also adorn these areas.Obvious blindspots.All you have to do is watch youtube videos- there is responses of American ambulances responding from all parts of the country.And you will obviously see why our dual sirens,dual horns and many lights are needed.

@Barista: That's exactly the reason. It's so if you look up in your rear view mirror you'll be able to read it... of course the flashing lights and siren are usually a faster indicator an ambulance is on your tail, lol.

@MrKengproductions I feel you.I'm a Power-Call fan from the 70's but some rigs of today I would choose a different type of electric siren,in some cases.

@theneptune2011 I'm sure you are right. My partner thinks the suspension on the 5 ambulances we have with this chassis is made for cherry pickers (that power companies use,) because the rear of the vehicle is so heavy. the rear of an ambulance is much lighter than a truck like that or a FD rescue unit. i think that may be the reason for your smooth ride at work and why us paramedics (at least the ones i know) dont like this chassis. (BTW, we have the air ride too)

very beautiful truck, I have 3 just like it. ours have a light bar on the front end over the front cabin that has rotating lights though, like the big light bars you see on the police cruziers. A-1 A-3 and A-4 are all chevys, we had to put weights on the back, did you find the same issues? A-5 is an international, but it's on it's last leg. we don't have an A-2 it's a long story. anyway nice vid, nice truck. take good care of it.

i like how u guys have mostly led and a couple rotators. this vid proves to people that leds crank halogen's ass. people try fighting me saying that halogen or strobes are better then led, but i always win. haha

@Tjoggiie89 well yeah, i get europe's point of view about that, im not american either, im from brazil and here we use Sprinters and such as ambulances. i think its a bit "too much" having these behemoths as EMS, but sometimes they get the job done even better than our Sprinters

on the chevy kodiak/gmc topkick you can only turn the daytime running lights off by pulling the parking brake lever or pulling the fuse

@gunnlover Bad ideas should be "hated". Apparently many don't even think. Light bar makers impress wit "29 different patterns" when ALL ON/ALL OFF is most effective. Saw a professionally done brush truck with blue lights oriented =[]===[]= The narrow horizontal beams shine into the sky and pavement instead of side to side. Can't see them unless directly in front.

these look and sound good and they have a good turning radius to boot. but the ride is so rough, that the crew's backs hurt at the end of a busy shift. its not just a problem for us paramedics, but how is the ride for the 80 year old with a hip fracture on a lsb feeling even after the max dose of fentanyl or morphine?

At least you're not out drinking and driving! And if you're sleepy,go to bed.Tomorrow is a new day.

This is beautiful machine indeed but @ImForwardLook, European ambulances (in the Netherlands anyway) ar no less equiped or state of the art as the one in the video. In fact this chevy ambu would be highly impractical in many of the dutch inner cities and towns. @ Ischraiber many "other nations" have pride for their values too! USA is a great country but there are many other great nations on this earth where Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness are equally valued and protected!

@m2inla...the fire rescue comes with air ride suspention for u knowledge...so no back hurt..they ride gentle...if no,come to miami station 18 for a ride ,and u will see

Alright then. I'll check up on some used V-con's, as old Federal's round here are a bit hard to come by, and the new Vcon's that the dealer sells down here area in the $200 range, want something a bit less than that, I could pay a month's rent for what I could a new V-con.

By saying alarm,you are meaning siren? The brake lights don't flash.The maximum beam rear flush warning lights are just that,warning lights.But yes,they do also co-exist as brake lights when the brakes are applied.And this vehicles does have various colors..Red,Amber,Clear.Blue is a warning color for Police.Some do use Blue though.That's a preference.And there is too many Countries that Over-use blue lights on E.M.S.,Fire and Rescue vehiclesThis light set-up is perfectly fine for U.S. traffic.
