Just got my 1978 caballero. Hace all same issues. Ill take care of it. You did real good job on your 79. So far huh? Lookin good.

You got a nice find there. I did my passenger side floor pans front back, I hope thats it. Couldn't start taking carpet up on driver side. I needed to keep it drivable for now. Them Elcos are common to have rusted out floors.

thanks and yes I've noticed it common with elcos , a lot of people have reached out with advice. I just got my new Floor pans in this weekend so I'm about to get this finished up Soon , stay tuned in ✊🏾

Love that elcomineo sir i had a 81 caballero government took my house and I had to give my caballero away no place to live

yesssir .. and the older they Get eventually it will have to be done .. They used thin a** metal on the floor pans.. they was dumb for that ..

I dont know hiw flashy of a man You are but ive alwaya thiught a satin black with d3ep dish torque thrust wheels on these ole elcaminos would be sharp and do a rich red wood bed kit for tge rear go real rum runner old achool colors. That thing has days of potential keep it up

The Midwest taught me a lot about buying a old skool. Mine came from Indianapolis so I felt every second of that floor pan view 😑

😂😂😂 Mann !!! But what can i do 🤷🏾‍♂️ it is a 40 year old car and i've seen worse.. if you seen my Camaro floor pan repair video, that boy was HIT !!! IT was alot of work getting that sub-frame repair so I'm already seasoned lol ✊🏽

1st thing 1st! Lose the Chrome. Replace it with the Black Molding Kit.

@@EprofitdetroitTheProcess yes. Especially under the ac heater box. And the back 4 mounts...

@@EprofitdetroitTheProcess grab the bushing If u can move it then the mount is rotted thru. U can also use a block of wood on a jack andsee if the body separates from the frame if u jack up slightly on the body at a safe point to do so. These cars had some weak frames and always rot the same. Doin a frame off on a 85 el and building a 82 cut pro touring car

oh ok and Yeah i"ve heard about the frames , so is there 6 frame mounts or 8 total? I've already checked the front 4 , the 2 by the door jams and the 2 Mid's located under the storage back seat area and they fine, I just did some welding work on the floor pan and had to re-secure the mid Frame mount brackets to the body. I assumed it was only 2 more mounts in the Rear but haven't checked yet, I appreciate the heads up ✊🏾
