on the rear bar, wouldnt you want the end brackets and bolts angled to match the angle of the control arms? the bushings dont look like they would last long with the way they were seated. I would think the bar would still function like they should at an angle.
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 3 жыл бұрын
They are angled to match the sway bar movement. The trailing arms just move up and down, so angling them with the bar prevents them from binding.

Do all seay bars have the end links? I noticed mine doesn't when i replaced the bushings. It's a 1987 R10. If they are needed do they come with the kit ir can i buy separately? Thank you
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 2 жыл бұрын
You don't always need end links. Some bars can be attached directly to the control arm with just a bushing. End links are only needed to correct the alignment of the sway bar to control arm angle.

I see on the rear sway bar installation you are supporting the rear axle with jack stands. Should those be at a certain height or doesn't matter ?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter. What does matter is that you lift the rear end and not the frame to get clearance.

So I have 61 C10 with a rebuilt 84 front clip. I put the beefy 1 3/8 front sway bar. Handles great but seems to really be rattling my entire front truck over any ripples in the road. I’ve got new shocks in the truck. Do I consider a smaller diameter sway bar or high end shocks?? Thanks
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 2 жыл бұрын
Just pull the sway bar off and see if it gets better. That way you'll be able to determine if it's the bar or not, then move on from there.

@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV

Yes, plenty of room for movement without stressing the bolts. Its just best to set them up at the height they will be at 95% of the time.

On the rear sway bar, what are the extra smaller/ short sleeves for?
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV
@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV 2 жыл бұрын
They are used to adjust the end of the bar up or down to manage the angle. It doesn't make a difference in how it works, only for clearing parts, the ground, etc.

You use those in case the angle or tilt of the bar needs to be adjusted after it's installed.
