Me too can’t figure it out changed the injectors idle control valve the injectors and I cleaned tps and maf and did no good problem has gotten worse

@Michael Copeland Car ran fine with maf unplugged so I replaced it, still no luck. Got the fuel pressure checked and it was fine. Its really odd. Cold starts are a little rough/weak but that could be the cold weather at this point. If I drive to the gym or somewhere where the car will be parked for an hour it really needs for me to give it gas or it just quits on me when I try to start it. If the car is only parked for a few minutes, so still hot, it starts up with no gas but still a bit weak. Actually driving is fine. Sometimes when taking off after stopped at a light it will catch a bit but that seems like a different issue. No crazy idling issues thus far. Water temp sensor you think? Try unplugging your mass airflow sensor see what happens

I did that today car ran for 15 mins then turn off l, my last mass sensor was bad unplug it and drive the car for a week without killing the car maybe my cheap sensor now buying a Hitachi one now I hope it works

Honestly, it's a common issue with most impalas. I have had this issue with about 3 impalas so far and most have happened on the 3.8l. However if you elaborate on what exactly is going on I may be able to help you with the situation.

I'm currently having the same problem with my 2003 Impala. Gotta put it in neutral. And hold the gas when coming to a stop

It’s 100% the MAF sensor it’s probably going out these sensor read the volume of air going into the intake. So you have your air box with the filter then you have the MAF sensor and then the IAT sensor that reads the temperature of the air most new cars have that built in with the MAF sensor. After that we have the throttle body with the flap and the IAC valve and after that just before the flap you have a TPS sensors all these sensors work together there jobs all too deal with the air. As we all know we need more air to fuel to have proper combustion so what is my issue well reading all your comments too me it’s definitely the MAF. Computer checks the MAF first then reads the air temp looks at the TPS too see if the driver is increasing air flow if the computer sees the TPS is zero it commands the IAC valve open to keep the engine running at idle. If the MAF is reading wrong you can see how it would mess up everything down the line the IAT sensor readings won’t match with the air volume the TPS won’t match with the air volume and at idle since the TPS and MAF are like brothers if the computer can’t read the air volume it won’t match TPS and won’t command the IAC valve to open probably why you gotta keep the gas pedal pressed down at stops. Try cleaning the MAF and why’ll your at it all the other sensors down the line and the throttle body it’s self
