Ever since I watched this battle a few months ago, I've been watching literally as many battles as I can from as far back as I can find. Still so much to see, but.. from what I HAVE seen.. NaPoM's spit snare triplets rebuttal in the second round was the BEST round response I've ever seen. Period.

It seems like they dont want to give 2 championship to 1 person, i can't remember anyone that has 2 GBB championship, but all the reactions that i saw until now (including D-Low as a judge) and everyone says that Napom deserve it.. its kind sad for Napom, he deserved, the most powerfull beatboxer on the stage, the most cativating with the best energy, he's the GBB 2023 champion for me, the same way this happened on 2016 against Kenny Urban, a clearly victory, and everyone agree with 2016 title that should be for Napom as well, anyway, congratz to River

5:55 River did this technique as a final boss move for his final round and thought it was the winner for him, but 5 seconds later Napom just countered it so f**king hard like it was NOTHING to him. You can even see at 6:05 that River was still hyped about his finisher while Napom was throwing counters in his face lol =)))) Anyways it's over now! Napom is the absolute winner for me🔥

Napoms last drop was weak for sure, but i can't shake the feeling that he deserved to be champion. He countered Rivers hardest most impressive technique also which is a big part of battling.

Maybe next time no 2 judges from one country

I always thought river’s techniques are impressive but man sometimes the beats are so boring to listen to for more than 30 seconds

I watched this final so many times, River to me, all their rounds seem to melt into one round. In comparison to the others that battled, not a single round River had made stood out. I, for one, thought that battling was a part of the point scores some of the rounds they refused to engage their opponent. Just looked away for the majority, and it was distracting. Or blocking someone (Abo Ice) to get water. If I had to score the battle, Napom would have been victor. It's a shame. It was fun to see Napom back, I do hope that they return again.

I was a competitive dancer and anytime you get on the stage and face off against another person, you take the chance that someone is going to have an opinion that isn't going to agree with yours and it's going to suck ass...but those times when everyone is in sync, it's the best feeling in the world...NaPoM should have had that one totally

Few comments on a lot of points I disagree with (both in video and comment section) "Napom clearly won, he was robbed" Definitely not, otherwise it would be a 5-0 vote for Napom. "Napom had more energy" Yeah, true. And river had the more complicated beatboxing rounds. Y'all point the battling part so much but there is also beatboxing part. If Napom battled better, River did beatbox better. It's crazy thst you want to jump up and down listening to a beautiful jazzy themed first round from River. "Rivers's round were unpleasant and there were pitch issues." That's crazy, the first comment section where a lot of people are saying this. Almost as if it's an echochamber of what Chezame said. But interesting how no reaction including DLow's mention this pitch slip ups. Hey, but what do I care if you wanna dickride the opinions of Chezame when he says what you agree with i.e. Napom won. You'll be quick to point out his own issues with keeping time for Helium. Good to see, people pointing out pitch issues in a complex vocal run but not pointing out the minimal vocal pitching Napom did in "If i lose my mind" "French bias waaah" The most bs shit ever. I don't see why Wawad or Alexinho deserves unwarranted allegations of biasness. But crazy to see people glaze over the higher much higher possibility of bias by Gene. But before you say it's still 2-1 (which won't be true because it has to be shown why both French judges were biased), even if it was 2-1, it makes my point easier. Because it shows then that Wing was robbed in the first place, as there were no SK judges while Napom had Gene on his side. So ehile River entered finals with all the votes, Napom only entered Finals with Gene's deciding vote. So go on, either accuse all countrymen of bias, or don't bother in the first place.

both are championship worthy imo, but I'd still have given it to NaPoM by a small margin.

River’s arpeggios in 2021 were so much nicer to listen to with the delicate sounds like the hollow whistle and falsetto voice, it just doesn’t hit the same with lip oscillation and the harsher sounds like his weird synths and basses. Just my opinion though

In my opinion D-low and Skiller were the deciding factors , dlow voted Napom , skiller for river The other judges , 2 were French the other was Napom’s friend Congrats River , Napom , you are the people’s champion ♥️

I completely agree with everything you said but I just want to say that not every judge voted based on there personal taste. Dlow voted for Napom and he explained it in his video analysis, Skiller voted for River because he likes his style more, Gene voted for Napom because he loves what Napom does , even if River does his own style gene clearly saw that he captured the battle energy and voted for him. Here is when it becomes biased, wawad and Alexhino voted for River because he is French! I can see why Wawad voted for River since he also voted for wing in the semi finals and he prefers more that kind of style BUT Alexhino battles the same way as Napom, doesn't have any ready routines or songs and always captures the winner energy and gives a nice battle with heavy drops and freestyles. That's how he won the Gbb and also won against Two H even if Two H was more complex and technical Alexihno captured the winner energy and won. So that's why Im pretty sure Alexihno preferred and wanted to vote for Napom but voted for River because he is French. That's why I believe Napom should have won it and it was unfair and biased win for River. That is just my opinion which I strongly believe but Im open for discussion. Chezame if you see this please reply to me what do you think about my statement. Thank you!

If only we knew what the judges were judging - rhythm, originality, stage presence, entertainment etc? Because I feel it is very hard decipher what exactly the performers are being judged on... Let's get some transparency and standardized rules.

For me the pitch wasnt that bad in the arpeggio(in 2nd round) as the timing.. he went a bit off-beat and lost the flow a bit with that beat.. anyway it was still super sick

I think everybody knows the real BATTLE winner is Napom, but does it matter? maybe for us the fans, but for napom it didnt matter cause he proved himself and what he can do, his incredible freestyle ability, his power and energy, he needed the prize to fix his chipped tooth, but besides that, i think Napom didnt care about the winner title, cuz he always will be a winner in our souls. and one more sad thing is that 1st place got so many thingz, not only the money, but a jacket, rc505MK2 with a DPA Mic, thats too much.. Oh also that fast liproll combo from Napom (ppl want that dope shi) is incredibly hard, i think most of PROs need at least 1 year of training to do that I agree with ur take on this

To me, River won. Napom did great too though. What I don't get is how people say "River only won because he cried in 2021". He literally spoke out against corruption and SA within the beatbox community. Meanwhile, Napom got drunk, and livestreamed himself crying that the finals got rigged. You want to reward _this_ kind of crying?

If its not a battle then they shouldn't call it that. Napom treated it like a battle. They both show cased their talents to get there. Now you battle each other. River didn't really battle.

River's runs or arpeggios are not in tune. The ones at the end of the second round are just noise. And I agree - call it a stylistic preference, but a lot of his sounds are...not pleasant? Napom took this for me. Better energy, good counters, amazing tech, great timing. He also mirrored River's first round and did a slower, more musically orientated round. He demonstrated true versatility. And he is a mic master. It may be opinions, but Napom simply had a better performance, everything else being opinion - less mistakes by far. Just as much musicality and versatility in technique. And I think he sounds better by a mile in this battle.

this is proof that you don't need 50 different sounds and crazy technical beats to win and be good. Napom was so much better, and all he did was liprolls and simple drum combos. Codfish same way. Berywam is simple and clean. So is wing. Dlow has this stlye too but he's different.
