Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum, initially named Prince of Wales, India, is a historical centre in Bombay (Mumbai) which records the historical backdrop of India from ancient to current times.
It was established during English rule of India in the early long periods of the twentieth hundred years by noticeable residents of the city then, at that point, called Bombay, with the assistance of the public authority, to remember the visit of the Sovereign of Ridges (later George V, lord of the Unified Realm and head of India). It is situated in the core of South Mumbai close to the Passage of India. The exhibition hall was renamed in 1998 after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the pioneer behind the Maratha Domain.
How to reach here :
1. You can get down at Churchgate Railway Station OR CSTM Railway Station.
2. You will get a direct bus just opposite both the Railway Station & will drop you in front of the museum.

I've been to the museum over a dozen times. Born and brought up in Mumbai. I went in 2022 too. The weapons and art (paintings) section is either removed or was under reconfiguration..There is a section where jewellery and coins are kept which you missed. The natural history section is the only one that has remained unchanged in the last 30 years I guess. Now I take my children here regularly :)

How much average time does it takes to visit the entire museum?

@@balajiyadav6650 depends upon your interests and how much time you want to spend at each section. It's huge and one can spend anywhere from 2 hours to even 6 hours there depending upon how much in detail one wants to view and understand the artefacts.

Great .. My dad took me here in 1992 .. I was stunned to see it .. there was Great While shark just behind the Whale .. it's was the Highlight of the entire museum.. but it's been removed I guess .. please some one advise about it

Amazing video!!!!🤩🤩 I was wondering if we allowed to carry lunch box inside ( probably not) If not then is there a place to keep them while your enjoying the museums beauty and get it back once you are done???

You can carry your lunch box but your bag will be kept in the security room after your visiting you can have your food since there are places where u can enjoy food peacefully.

Yes it's open on Sunday but pls avoid it on Saturday & Sunday if u really want to enjoy this place peacefully since Sunday it's very crowded. But I recommend u pls visit this place....
