Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha -- Grand Palace): although, I am not a huge fan of crowded tourist attractions but this place was something extraordinary and is a must-see. The entire complex is filled with ornate buildings and colorful mosaics -- sitting there for at least 20 minutes and just meditating while getting lost in the gorgeous mosaics is one of those moments that I have "pocketed" in my memory for a lifetime and continue reflecting back to.
Padaung Village - Long Neck Ethnic Hill-Tribe: starting at an early age, women of the Padaung tribe wear a coil brass rings around their necks. This collar, and the elongated appearance it gives their necks overtime, are Padaung symbols they wear proudly. In their native Myanmar, Padaung people often faced persecution over these tribal symbols. Now, having relocated to Thailand, these Padaung women continue this centuries-old custom, memorializing the struggles of the past and maintaining a link to their tribe's history.
The outskirts of Chiang Mai: I did not spend anytime in the centre of Chiang Mai. Instead I rented a car as soon as I landed at the airport and went on to explore the outskirts. I drove to the Doi Ang Khang Mountain where I got most of those drone shots and stayed in a secluded hotel (Panvinam, Chiang Mai) that was an experience in itself.
