Chiara Marletto is a Research Fellow working at the University of Oxford. She researches foundational issue in physics. In recent research, she has worked on a new fundamental theory of physics called constructor theory, which is a generalisation of quantum information theory. I'm a retired Old Fart and lay philosopher and I heartily second @aaspookyaa's comment! IMO we humans are very dependent upon in-depth outside-the-square thinking such as Chiara Marletto's for our future survival and thriving!

A light switch in the off position has no energy flowing through it, but the potential remains at both poles of the switch regardless. The trick is to discover the mechanism for what flipped the switch, not whether or not potential was present. Obviously, in the case of our universe, potential must have existed because the universe does in fact, exist. If the law of conservation is true in perpetuity, then there must have been a universal energy potential in stasis which was equal to that of the entire universe prior to the big bang. The "prior" of time being the equal in potential to measured time, which factors as a conservation of time the same as potential energy is conserved. The assumed "stopped time" within the heart of black holes does not shed potential of existence through time and over time because the features of its existence (as confined within a detectable super-massive gravitational body) can be measured as a point and place in time and over time. Thus the "no time" exists as a 'feature potential' over time, which must eventually balance to an equilibrium in time given the known rules of universal conservation and entropy smoothing.

What, are you asserting that Chiara Marletto was not clear in what she was saying? I thought CM did pretty well actually. I have not yet read her book; in fact today is the first time I have encountered the term _constructor theory_ but now, after listening to CM's responses to the few questions that were asked I can see how the idea of a set of universal constructors has great potential. As far as can currently see, constructors must be embodied algorithmic entities, but they are/will not be all embodied in the same kinds of media/physical system.

@@xodarapive watched a few videos with her and she only explains that "constructors exist" and that seems to be where the explanation ends. How is this new verbiage useful? Lets see it in some application.
