The reason why Kindaichi was so worried and affected about Kageyama was because he's probably the one who purposely rejected his toss at the end before he got benched.

Oof I remember why I stopped watching JennAnime's reactions to Haikyuu after this ep... she COMPLETELY misses the point with Kageyama's development and the ""recrowning" scene. "Why are they making this look like a good thing?" Uh, because it IS.

Oh no, they included the lady who kept whining about Kageyama, completely missing the point. This whole scene showed Kageyama 2 things: 1) he needs to work on his communication 2) Karasuno is never going to abandon him over a disagreement. He saw that they were pissed, but they didn't leave him behind. He NEEDED to see that.

Lady at the bottom wearing black was truly insufferable. Missed the entire point of the episode regarding Kageyama's development. Incapable of suspending even a modicum of disbelief and was outraged when things weren't going how she envisioned them to. Seriously it's amazing how someone can miss the mark by so much.

I think some people didn’t totally get the point of this episode and the absolute wholesomeness of Karasuno, especially Hinata, accepting Kageyama as the new king and how much it brought to his character development. I love this chapter of the manga, it meant Kageyama finally learned to speak up and it was thanks to Hinata, the 3rd and 2nd years that he felt safe enough to keep doing it, trying to get the others to be better and not complying to their bad habits but knowing he would be put in his place by his teammates when necessary, meaning when he oversteps his boundaries (since he still has trouble communicating things with the right tone lol) and when he doesn’t acknowledge his own mistakes. And so, he was able to get over his trauma and make something good out of the ‘king’ nickname he hated so much. It wasn’t a jaw dropping spike or an impressive match point, but it made me happy to watch Hinata and the others helping Kageyama overcome his past. I still get the chills when Hinata crowns him and Kageyama shows one of those rare sincere smiles of his. Though I don’t remember if they managed to convey it better in the manga, since maybe it was too confusing in the anime (? Thanks for the mashup btw

That woman at the bottom is so annoying especially at the "youre on the way" scene. How could you say that nicely when youre at the middle of an rally?

It's not the one at the bottom being angry that's upsetting. It's the fact that the focus went to the apology being "blocked" instead of the fact that Kageyama was apologizing at all. Saying he should dwell on it while actively ignoring a moment of weakness he had and immediately felt bad for. Kageyama is still a kid. He's learning and growing just like the rest of the team. Acting like he is doing these things on purpose is crazy. Acting like he hasn't been fighting to change since episode one is crazier.

I'm still kinda pissed at the fact that the same team (seijoh having core team of kitagawa daichi???) accepted mad dog but abandoned kageyama in the court. Edit: I'm not just talking about just benching him. The problem is that they benched him at the nationals. In front of all teams and whole media.. It was a big topic. There was news articles about it. In 1st season episode ( I don't remember which ep r8) he said that he didn't get to shiratorizawa bcoz he wrote general entrance exam and didn't pass it .( Come on, he was a genius who even pissed off oikawa with his sports talent. He didn't get a sports scholarship.) They could have benched him at practice match you know. And their coach was disappointed in him instead of communicating what's the issue. All of them just kept it in and just isolated him. You know they were spoiled/cared/led ( oikawa can lead anyone you know) by oikawa... oikawa and kageyama are polar opposites.. They couldn't adapt to his style too I guess. Ofcourse kageyama is a dumbass who couldn't convey what he wants to say and this also escalated it ... ( when noya teaches recieving and hinata just stares blankly.. kageyama saia he understood it though and tsukishima said of course you do. We commoners can't understand you monsters?? language and then only kags realized that many times others don't get what he says on court) Spoiler for manga readers: I have a question...You all know what happened in his 2nd yr ( his grandpa who taught him volleyball and was also a coach died. He practically raised him and his sister. His sister left volleyball during adolescent bcoz of she's grown or some stuff and the only support / connect with volleyball he had died). wasn't kindaichi and kunimi his friends? How come he didn't receive any support from anybody nearby? It's still a puzzle for me.. ( there's even a scene where tobio is confused why oikawa was angry and almost hit him... his grandpa who was in hospital tells him that oikawa can't help him in teaching bcoz he sees him as rival.... Kageyama was a kid who didn't even understand that but was subjected to oikawa's anger due to his inferiority complex against 'genius' as if kageyama hasn't played from age 4 and just a baby. They were all kids with their own struggles but There's a lot of misunderstanding about kageyama.. how he is just good at everything like we didn't see him work 3 months just to perfect a toss for hinata and we will only know how important hinata and karasuno is to kageyama at the adverse vs msby match). I know I'm a kageyqma fan but that lady at the bottom just pissed me off. In karasuno at this batch, kageyama is their youngest in the team. Hinata is the oldest. Just so you know.. He became a setter not bcoz he had talent for it.. He could practically play all positions. When his grandpa asked him which position he wants to play, he asked his grandpa which position plays with/ has the ball the most. He became a setter bcoz his grandpa told him that setter position touches the ball the most. He just wanted to be on the court involved in the game the most or more than anyone the court. It's just that oikwaa had an iwaizumu and atsumu had an Osamu who was always with them. Kageyama didn't have that from young age. He only found it in that middle school match against hinata ( what where were you doing these 3 years while holding the net (( why didn't I see you before.. more about his potential and how he could match his best set)) but hinata misunderstood it that kags told him that he didn't practice well while thinking how he didn't even have a proper team) and developed it in high school.

If I compare it with kuroko no basuke term... kageyama went from akashi the emperor ( heterochromatic eye) in junior high -> akashi in the flashback ( oikawa advice) -> akashi after last game ( oikawa advice + atsumu words = creating new style (adapting both and figuring out which works) kageyama in season 4 and beyond that)
