Elements from a news segment capturing the Chicago Blackhawks facing off against Sesame Street muppets for their 1975 Christmas party at Chicago Stadium. Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Grover represent Sesame Street's team. On the Blackhawks side, the players shown are Bill White, Alain Daigle and Ivan Boldirev.

Yes, but--perhaps just as bad--the program for the home game against the California Golden Seals on December 30, 1975, included a story on the Muppet scrimmage and identified Grover as "Gooner." I guess we have to remember that the Children's Television Workshop was less than ten years old at the time, and probably not every adult was up on their Sesame Street.

As a Blackhawks fan, I love this because it's Blackhawks vs Sesame Street, but I hate this because the Blackhawks blew the game! Where was defense on that last score?

Oscar should have dropped the gloves, and then trash talked afterwards. Snuffleupagus should have been the goalie or two skaters should have dressed up as him. The Count could have kept score, while the rinks lights flash off and on with the sound of thunder. Guy Smiley could have also been the play-by-play commentator. Kermit the frog 🐸 could have also done interviews in between periods.
