This is my exact same story I was an athlete I played base ball and wrestled and snowboarded then one day I went blind in my right eye out of nowhere and went to the hospital where they said I had a stroke and I had a aortic aneurysms so I had to have the valve replacement surgery I am 36yrs and I’m 2 weeks out from my surgery it gets better everyday I’m grateful to be alive

@@jgreene4083 no unfortunately your eyes are like your brain once you lose blood flow to part of the brain or eye that part becomes permanently dead.

Are you able to still do the sports you like such as wrestling or snowboarding? I’m so concerned about maybe getting to this point and I don’t want to have to forfeit playing ice hockey or surfing if it comes to this. Please give me hope and update

Hi Fred,really inspired by this new valve technology that's been made available.I am looking at surgery in the near future,until I watched video my mind was made up on a tissue valve.Is it right you can half the amount of blood thinners with the on-x valve. Would love to get sum feed back thanks steve..

I also had an biscupid Aortic valve. but strangely I was born with a perfectly healthy Aortic valve, some how my healthy aortic valve became biscupid when I was in my early 30, eventually I needed a mechaical valve in 2006

I have heard people talk that the more time they have to study the data it could be possible in the future to maybe only take a low dose of aspirin.

The medicine needs to better a lot about valve problems. You need to replace it each 8 or 10 years, it is a terrible surgery to go again and again.

Not for a mechanical valve. It never has to be replaced unless the surgeon mess up the first time.

@@jgreene4083 Yes, but it's needs a very strict control of clotting for the rest of life and even taking medicine there is still a risk of clotting that can lead to heart attacks and strokes. It is a highly dangerous option.
