Smh it's strange and very wierd..incomprehensible Honestly..how certain people can spew evil energy and hateful words/thoughts towards a whole people..based on their skin color and actually believe they are "Better people" a more "Intelligent people" a "Higher people" than the ones they feel they're above. The nerve to talk ugly..evil..disgusting..simple mindedly towards an individual/individuals they know absolutely nothing about and feel as if they are of any kind of purity or cleanliness or goodness or significance. My initial reaction to your reply was to say something equally discouraging or make a retaliatory remark but then that would be counter productive, so instead I’d like to appeal to any sense of goodness in you (and I know it’s there) And ask that you flip that. Just like I think all people aren’t bad, all cops aren’t bad, I hope you get where I’m going with this…all black kids with dreads aren’t thugs and such. How about instead of assuming that this young man can’t read or is incapable of being smart or willing to learn. How about that the fact that this young man made the effort to even show up for class daily, how about realizing that by this teacher connecting with this young man in this manner may have made a powerful impact on him so much so that he too may take to heart that if his teacher is this cool and can meet me on my level maybe that young man may be impacted by this connection to go to college and be like his teacher when he could have very well went the opposite way and end up in trouble in the streets and run into someone like you in a lawbreaking situation. Im appealing to you to instead of criticizing these young people that are at least making an effort try encouraging them. You never know how much if a change that could bring about.
