When I was a kid, and they'd seen us drinking a beer on the street, you bet your a$$ they were chasing us!!! We'd stop & comply. They would bring us back to where we were and make us dump EVERY beer out of the cases we had stashed in a cooler (unopened cases got put in their trunk...😂😂). They would then proceed to give us a GIANT kick in the a$$ and tell us to GTF out of here! We obliged. If one of us got out of hand, the cuffs got slapped on, a slap was received to the back of the head to get into their car and we would sit in a 9th District holding cell for 23 hours on a "drunken disorderly" charge. Only 23 hours to teach us a lesson. Cuz, after 24 hours, we actually had to be CHARGED with the offense. No prosecutor was gonna play that game.The cops knew it & so did we. It was a 23 hour "timeout" for being an idiot. It stopped us from breaking the law!...Sometimes...😂

So far this weekend in Chicago , 6 killed, 11 wounded including this police officer. April 1 to April 20 : Shot & Killed: 28 Shot & Wounded: 144 :Total Shot: 172 ; Total Homicides: 32. YTD numbers- 691 shot ; 152 homicides. Then there are the 6000+ vehicles stolen. According to CPD, 2,170 robberies were reported in Chicago so far in 2024, compared to 2,149 in 2023. The Crime Wave continues

@@johnobrien1759HA, no. I’ve done the checking, Chicago is so bad. Illinois last I checked is the third highest violent crime rate in America this year, beaten out only by California and Texas. There has been 670+ people shot this year alone in Chicago, only 3 of which involved Police. Chicago’s crime is so bad, having a single day of no one shooting or getting shot was news worthy last month. I would feel safer in most third world countries than Chicago. And I’m born and raised near Chicago, I know because I keep up with it. The crime is so common and awful that the past mass shooting event last weekend was only local news. I do not go a single day without reading or hearing about more crime that has occurred, multiple robberies by one group in a day, shootings leaving people wounded or dead, or how about the justice system which let out a violent offender to abuse their victim again and just didn’t throw him back in when he broke the rules of his parole the first time, which would have saved a kids life by preventing the second time from happening. Chicago is an active war zone.

For a lot of the criminals it's fun to elude the police or go on crime sprees.. being tougher with prison sentences will NEVER stop new people from committing crimes...We will always have crime because there are way too many reasons that people commit them to begin with....oh and btw, police are not psychic... they can't predict when and where criminals will strike...So how TF do you suggest they stop crimes from happening....

Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling this shooting was someone's unjustified retaliation for the shooting death of Dexter a few weeks ago in Chicago. Dexter, the guy that foolishly opened fire on Chicago police officers, injuring one of the officers that pulled him over during a traffic stop.

This is so sad. Police risk their lives and these thugs either retaliated, targeted, or plain carjacked him. Brandon Johnson doesn’t care about regular citizens that get hurt/ unalived. I’m glad Captain Snelling made a point to say all citizens who are trying to do right are important.

No proper questions are being asked was the officer carrying a gun? Was the gun taken? Were there any Chicago police identifiers on the police officers vehicle that would let a criminal know he was a police officer? How about this one for the keystone cops, what was the officer's name?
