I just love Jason so much. He's such as sweet, unassuming man, and his vocals are beautiful. He's still got it. Would love to meet him someday.

Notice how when Jason is talking, Robert is listening and smiling so big. You can tell he loves Jason like a little brother. I met Robert in ‘88 when I was 21 and he took the time to talk with me, listen to me, and was so nice and humble. He’s a wonderful and talented guy!

Chicago has had the greatest line up through the years. I loved them straight through the 70s, 80s, 90s. Terry, Peter, Robert, Bill, Jason...all stellar vocalists. Jason is a real class act, salt of the earth- love how the band welcomed him into the family. Just love this band, can't get enough. Thanks so much for the music, gentlemen. ❤

I'm 72 years old, a drummer vocalist in a band for over 35 years and a great fan of Chicago since day one. So sad when Terry died, infuriated when Danny got canned and disappointed when Peter left but I've always enjoyed the band to this day even with all the changes. The only thing I could never understand was what the band saw in Bill Champlin. I disagreed that he sounded anything like Terry and in fact did not like his voice at all. Robert does a much better job of covering for Terry's songs... just my opinion. I saw him play recently with Danny's new band and I was not impressed. Jeff Coffee does a great job with Danny though. I caught Chicago's performance earlier this year in Toronto. Nice job boys! 56 going on 57 years! Way to go!

You placed Robert’s name under the Jeff oops. So if they weren’t sued by the Chicago transit authority, why didn’t they keep that name? I quit following them in the early 80’s. They stopped being rock n roll and started on the wimpy commercial pop bandwagon. Peter left and that was the nail in the coffin especially after the passing of Terry Kath. But wow the first 7-8 albums. What music they had! Rock n roll horns! Best time of my youth.

both great bands! I know Leonid's band has had the praises of Danny Seraphine.
@beegee13232 жыл бұрын
Funny that all the "current" members they're talking about are now out of the band, including Jason himself. The recent revolving door of people leaving the band tells me this "family" has some serious issues. Based on what Robert said about Champlin, this band does not tolerate individual success. Phil Collins was a successful solo artist as well as a successful member of Genesis. Both gigs worked and life went on. Had Chicago allowed Cetera to do his solo stuff alongside the band, things could have turned out so differently.
@EmotionallyExhausted2 жыл бұрын
100%. They fired Cetera out of jealousy, plain and simple, but what they did to Danny Seraphine was far worse. Lamm's a great musician and singer, but the "family" stuff really rings hollow.
@TheJldef Жыл бұрын
Exactly! Today Jason himself says that he did leave to take care of the family but he was also tired of always just being the guy who replaces Cetera and there was never again a song by his voice on the show. That part they say about ''family'' is totally untrue. The truth is that Robert and Trio dos Horns do not accept anyone who is more creative, musical, sings, composes and stands out than them. Cetera, Danny, Bailey, Bill, Jason, Keith, Tris, Lou... Only then would I have an incredible band and could play all the true Chicago hits perfectly. We would have 3 vocalists amazingly singing their compositions and also songs that have never been played live. We would have Cetera as lead singer, Bill on keyboards, guitar and singing, Bailey on lead guitar, Jason on downloading and singing his songs, Keith doing rhythm guitar and also lead and can sing, Tris and Danny can reverse on drums or have two drums as you said yourself like Genesis and we would still have Lou to help out on keyboards and sing songs that were composed by Jason, Bill for voice others and he would sing. But Chicago's biggest fear is having a reunion so they pay all their former members well so they don't run the risk of disappearing for real
@beegee1323 Жыл бұрын
@@TheJldef Agree with everything. Cetera has also clarified that it wasn’t touring itself that he had a problem with (which is often cited as one of the reasons he got ousted out of the band). It was the people he was touring with. He didn’t name names but it was quite clear what he meant. He has always been friendly with Lamm so the issue was likely the horns. Jason made huge contributions to the band in terms of performance and songwriting and yet his songs got tossed out of their regular sets. What Kind of Man and Will You Still Love Me (not written by Jason but popularized by his voice) are probably my favorite Chi songs; both were big hits but yet are not performed live. Very unfair to Jason who was with the band for over 30 years. Now that Walt is out, it’s the Jimmy, Lee and Robert show. Everyone else is just an insignificant hired hand.
@TheJldef Жыл бұрын
@@beegee1323 Aside from Bill who was the voice of the band's AOR, Look Away, You're not alone, Here in my Heart, Hearts in Troubles he was generous in cueing Chicago music. Chains of the Wind Apart from all the other authorial songs he sang in Cetera's eea. Jason has Niagra Falls, has If she'd been faithful, We'll last forever, Nothing's gonna stop us now. Lou would easily sing songs that went to Robert from other songwriters Chicago for me goes to 21 and XXX despite not being the best, but there are good songs there
@beegee1323 Жыл бұрын
@@TheJldef 21 was an incredible album and has some of the best Chi music of all time. One From The Heart is still in my playlist; Lamm at his best imo. XXX had some nice tracks but as an overall album, I’d call it mediocre. All the songs you mentioned are great. I still remember blasting Hearts in Trouble, which is probably one of the best Champlin tunes of all. That song was all Bill and Chi just added the horns.
