I visited Chicago back in 2015 when I was an international exchange student in the US. I fell in love with the city I ended up going back there multiple times. thank you for bringing back such memories of this beautiful city.

I love seeing the heavy interaction, ppl kayaking, eating, whole families, island party boat, women posing for camera, ppl smoke sesh under a tree, police and security making sure everything ok, dogs walking, ppl biking and skating, different faces and multicultural... a much larger scale Riverwalk than san Antonio, inside a bigger wider river system inside a much taller city

The Bitter cold and snow will take some getting used to. But Chicago is a good city to live. I relocated there for employment.

Always expect a cold and snowy winter. Even a Polar vortex. It's unpredictable but expect the unexpected. Hope employment is doing you well.

@Mica Rubio it's bad with segregation I'm mixed race and I'm not South Asian enough for the people there. I fit in better with people of mixed background. Chicago isn't a good city to live in my opinion if u like hanging with people from a different nationality. I do like the overall state of Illinois

San Antonio doesn't exist in the same sentence as Chicago. Chicago is a top 5 tier global city.

It’s amazing all the great changes to Chicago such as this River Walk! It was never there when I lived there or visited. Love seeing it & wish I could go back again to visit!

Chicago Riverwalk is getting better every year. It's supposed to eventually connect to Chinatown to the south and by Logan Square to the north.

Stunning. Currently have 2 offers in on homes in Chicagoland. No clue how 200k gets you a nice condo in downtown chi yet here in crappy Charlotte its 400k.

Yessir downtown Charlotte anddddd Raleigh currently for a nice 2/2 downtown 400-600k. Biggest bubble in NC history by far. Due to simply lack of inventory and low rates. Burb town outside of Raleigh called Cary. Just small boring town...800k people are paying for a 3 story TH. Fools!!!

200k in Chicago gets u a luxury penthouse in downtown Chicago! I've seen some condos as low as 60k, 2br, 1 bth, in the far North Side. Nice neighborhoods and urban and very dense. Just not as urban as downtown but still more urban than 90 percent of America

Btw we have ALOT of cheap nice suburbs too that will remind you of the suburban lifestyle of Charlotte. You won't miss it if u get tired of the density. Keep in mind during this covid era, these places are less than half full of what it was before covid. If u decide u later want peace and quiet, suburban life. Chicagoland has alot of cool affordable suburbs too

This is a Bike city not saying I won't ever buy a car. But I prefer a Bike and using the Bus living in this city. It's a lot cheaper than dealing with a car

Easy to get around with a bike. That's how I get around most of the time and not to say I don't drive. Public transportation is great as well.

It's no wonder Chicago welcomes the second most tourist in the world annually (60 million). Only New York has more tourist; and I don't know why?

The biggest irony being, filmed in 2020 supposedly covid, yet downtown is still unaffected and still busy on the Riverwalk. On another note, during the winter the river freezes and snow stays ontop making it look cool. Dont walk on the ice tho...

What age do you have to be to rent the bicycles and of course ride them safely with a parent? My daughter is 9 and is amazing on a bike, but in a new city I would be worried sick!! We live in Southern Illinois. We have been wanting to get back to Chicago ASAP. If not a bike rental, is there anything else we can rent to ride around on that is age appropriate for her?

Wanted to add our plans. We are fulfilling her 2 wishes this summer. Stay at Great Wolf Lodge in Gurnee, IL for 2 nights. Then, on the way back home to Southern Illinois. Stop in Chicago and we are staying 2 nights at the Radisson Blu Aqua hotel. I plan on eating local foods, taking her on the riverboat tour, do as much as possible at Navy Pier, checking out some local attractions within the city and possibly take her on a 90 minute jet ski rental.

And the only reason I choose Radisson is bcuz they have balconies and are close to river. That was the ONLY hotel listed with a balcony. If you know of any that are right on the river within walking distance of everything. Please let me know, bcuz I searched for hours!!!!!

Hi there are scooters in select parts of the city but if u rent a divvy bike for her im sure she would be fine. They are located on racks all across the city

Regardless of how each political faction pictures Chicago, the truth is that the city has more shootings and homicides than other large cities (NYC and LA, ie), and that crime has been going up. Chicago mayor hasn’t done much to improve the situation.
