Chicago Kenwood Academy HS and Chicago Whitney Young are two of the top basketball powers in Chicago's Public League this (and every) season. Most all of their players also play each other on the Nike AAU EYBL Circuit. All of Whitney Young's starters (and coach Ty Slaughter) are with Meanstreets and Kenwood's starters (and coach Mike Irvin) are with Mac Irvin Fire. It was a battle between Chicago Public League's top committed point guards Dai Dai Ames (Kansas State) and Dalen Davis (Princeton). Virtually all the starters for both teams are D1 prospects.
On opening night in November, Kenwood edged Young in the closing seconds. Last season Young put Kenwood out of the Chicago city playoffs. Both teams cruised through the opening rounds. This game went down to the wire... Thanks to Mario @wegotnexthoops for the footage!
