I have a 6x6 piece of the Bulls home floor from the Stadium framed and hanging on my wall.

@Elias Ueland Lütcherath when they demolished The Stadium, they practically sold the entire building piece by piece. The court, seats, and bricks were all for sell.

i wish they colud hold on to the Stadium until 1999. I was born in 2000 and when i watch MJ's Games on DVD in the stadium .IT IS Way better than when i watch a game from 1996 finals in the unided Center. Stadium WAS SOO LOUD I MEAN THAT .

The upkeep of the place was too much to handle. There was talks of renovation but it was cheaper to.just build a new Stadium.

Gah, this is heartbreaking. Hard to believe that THIS was Chicago Stadium after 1994....😢

So many memories of going here as a kid. I definitely miss the old barn. The United Center is nice and fancy but the roar of the Madhouse on Madison will never be the same. Once the loudest arena in the NHL and NBA, gave the Hawks and Bulls a great home advantage. Being in there during the anthem at a hawks game gave you goosebumps. Chicago Stadium gone but never forgotten.

The "House that MJ built." Are you freaking kidding me! It was there decades before he was even born! And not a single mention of the Blackhawks? Pathetic!

Heading home to the burbs from downtown at the end of a work day, we realized that the Stadium was being demo’d. It wasn’t common knowledge that the tear down had started. We stopped and grabbed a few bricks and other small architectural items. Others were doing the same. The next day, there was complete fencing around the site and things were being sold to fans who wanted a piece of the building.

I can’t believe the United Center is approaching 30 in 2024! It still looks brand new! Best arena in America!

Were the player tunnel/locker rooms downstairs also demolished, or was it filled in with dirt?

I'm sure they demolished that as well. But that would be a fun thing to dig up one day! Haha

The house that MJ built? Hardly! The Stadium was built in 1929 and was the exclusive home of the Blackhawks until the mid 60s, when the Bulls moved there following their one season playing at the Amphitheater. Jordan didn't begin his career with the Bulls until 1984, so to to label the Chicago Stadium "the house that MJ built" is specious to the extreme.

I wonder where did they put those garbage after they tear down the building.
