Congratulations 🎉 That’s why I’ve been homeschooling my children the last 10 years after I left the public school system. At 13, one of my sons took a college entrance exam and scored high enough to earn college credits. He mentioned he didn’t want to go to college or start taking the classes too early. I didn’t push it, and he will be starting college in the Fall at 17! It’s all about working with your child at the pace they want to go without pushing so hard that they begin to resent or grow bitter towards you. All children can learn, it’s us that put the limits on them.
@jlv3x
@jlv3x 2 ай бұрын
The problem is more public school than school in general, I went to public school after starting my education in private school and I noticed the clear difference even as a kid. Homeschooling can be good if your kids are already sociable, but I have worked with a couple of adults that were homeschooled from children all the way through high school. Their inability to get along in basic multi-individual workplace situations made them toxic to be around. School is very much like work environments, you learn that you don't have to be friends to be sociable and get along with different types of people. That's just something that I noticed with multiple people that all happened to be homeschooled, I know they don't represent everyone but it was something that was just very obvious with those individuals.

I see the comparison you’re trying to make. There isn’t one. Your boy is on track with the rest of the country; starting college at 17. Now his future will be bogged down with loans and switching majors a million times! Go Mom! ❤

@@RyannLagattutaOr not. I never switched my major. Everyone doesn’t. But, the loans are a real problem for young people. I went to college and law school when higher education was infinitely more affordable. My parents had 3 of us in college at the same time.

@@SolaceInChrist that some people excell at a very young age due to different factors or advantages (or privileges as some people might say but I don't really agree with the use of this term when is applied to how things are supposed to be, for example, a family is supposed to be stable, supportive, functional and happy but that is considered to be a privilege in this time, but for me that's normal, that should be our view of what a family actually is, even though many of us didn't have that.) and many others even though they have the talent or the desire to do great things, live has been tough on them and have had many things they cannot surpass on their human strength, that's why we must seek God and plead for His mercy and grace to fall upon us so that even if we were lasts our entire lives, he can turn things around and make us the head and not the tail.
@SolaceInChrist

@@yamiletsoler3464 Thanks for the explanation but we must appreciate everything given to us by God. I grew up in an environment where my parents didn’t care whether to give us an education or not but my older brother was determined and he was further knowledgeable than his peers. He skipped 2 grades and was the first position in his every exam despite being with children who are 2-3 years older than him. He was brilliant especially at maths. He is still famous at my school and all the teachers who taught him seem to be fans of him. He wasn’t homeschooled nor did my parents helped him and he went to a regular school. He studied science and studied maths for a hobby. After he passed his 12-13th class, his picture was pasted on a huge poster. He wasn’t a nerdy asocial guy, he was a very popular character at my school and he blend in with all kinds of ages. It’s the mindset which matters not the environment. Well, he’s 18 now and is studying engineering, he wanted to become a doctor and was heart broken when my parents didn’t lend him a helping hand but even worse my parents made him wait until 17 to go to college even though he was supposed to go at 16. My parents send him to study engineering and my parents still doesn’t care if he drop out or not. It makes me confused when I hear children going to classes and they still get low grades. It’s the passion and no excuses mindset which results in more growth.

My son, born and raised in America, finished his high school program at 14 (his ACT score was 33) and graduated with a 4.0 GPA at age 20 (bachelor of science degree). @@nkosilathimoyo6970 language fillers are frowned upon in public speaking. I was taught this in high school for my speeches. the average person says them but maybe this girl is so smart she never even says them in casual conversation. she's very interesting and obviously not like everyone else

@@yourmajesty122Your argument is not ungrounded, because it’s true that we are taught to despise fillers, but that’s almost always an attempt to dehumanize public speaking. We are humans not robots, so, at times, we have to think while speaking, and thus use fillers while we figure our next thought. I would argue that that’s smart, because, can you see how awkward it would be if a speaker had to think for a minute with no fillers, but mouth shut and eyes rolling everywhere, while the audience is staring with this cold look of pity? I mean, I think of myself as very smart, but, of course, I didn’t get my PhD at 17. I am a candidate at 32, though. At any rate, ummm, what did I intend to say next, ummm, I think using fillers is just as human as blinking is.

She did, however, use the updated version of 'uhm' and 'ahh', a sentence starter that I dislike even more. It probably bothers me more because of its tendency to fool the listener into believing it belongs. And that is the use of 'So' to begin a response to the question. For example: Q- "How do you feel about achieving all these university degrees at an age that most kids are just graduating high school?" A - "So...la de da de da." 'So' does not fit here, grammatically speaking.

She is a accomplished and smart young lady who is on her way to accomplish much bigger things. I'm just sad that her story is not shown on the national media news programs. Fox News would do her story if she had committed a crime.
