I left Chicago in 2016..born and raised I said to myself I have a young son to raise he is innocent and does not deserve to live in such a place of gangs etc. I've never looked back.. Praying for all the families that lost someone in Chicago's voilence...I pray for you.and it's up to you to make that change after so many tragedies..I wanted to see my son grow up in a better place. So I made change.God bless.🙏🙏

Good for you! So sad our cities have been taken over by such human trash! If this country was a kingdom and i was the king anyone found to even JOINED a violent gang would be imprisoned until arthritis wouldn't allow them to fire a gun. I'm so sick of all this i could puke.

im a normal person. i grew up in chicago. one thing you’ll find in common from people who grew up middle class or below outside south side or east side, at a young age u lose ur ability to cry. even if it’s shit like that. unless it’s ur family that you love. Loyalty Trust and Love in chicago is like trying to find the solution to the violence.

emilio cina Sometimes I think some of our lives are just set up to be torn down. Some people are born to succeed, and others are born to fail, and everything in between, and sometimes there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it. Not trying to be a downer or anything, that's just the vibe I get sometimes. It just comes down to probability. 😔

I have never left a KZfaq comment in my life. I am a 5th generation law enforcement officer that also happens to be a gunsmiths kid, a navy brat, and the proud grandson of a us Marine. I've been working on the job in one form or fashion for 10 years. I KNOW the fear that comes from a voice on a talking box telling me to go somewhere that actively has a weapon present, or the fear of the words shots fired being yelled out of the same device, but none of that is as bad as hearing gun fire accompanied with people screaming and knowing I have to run towards it. The argument gun or no gun is a no brainer, no gun would be safer....... now with that said lets step out of the time machine and back from 1775. Because that is the last time the statement may have done any good. We live here and now where the criminal element can and will get firearms as needed. We can't take it back and all control does now is prohibit law abiding citizens from facing things that go bump in the night. Mandatory training and safe handling. Period. Real training. If you give a hungry man a fishing pole he may still starve, regardless he will most likely mess up your fishing for the day but with the pole give him some instruction and we all eat. The rest is just arguing over choices that can't be unmade.

Is it common for the mold to be broken? No. But it can happen, and to say it is a done deal is false. Take Ben Carson for example. All it would take is for a responsible parent to realize that maybe their kids would do better moving to a rural area instead of continuing to live in the gang-infested ghetto of Chicago. There is government housing outside of urban areas, too. Better schools too. Unless you're telling me there are absolutely zero responsible parents in Chicago? The lies that impoverished people in America have *no* chance to succeed in any way because of their ancestry or skin color are propagated by people who want to maintain the status quo. That's a message of defeat; of surrender, of *permanent victimhood* . The root of the problem is the breakdown of the nuclear family.

Chris Fulton If someone points a gun at you, and you have the capability to defend yourself at their expense, you should take it. If someone points a gun at you, they waive their rights of being treated with civility. Simply, if someone points a gun at you, it's not morally wrong to kill them. If someone pulled a gun on me, naturally I'd take whatever steps necessary to preserve myself, even if it's at their expense, if I have the capability. If a cop pulled a gun on me, my reaction would depend on the circumstance and my options, or which options I could create (likely there r not many in that situation).

If someone pointed a gun at you and you also had one would you just stand there and get shot or would you protect yourself? It shouldn't be a shock if a police officer or anyone shoots a person that is threatening there lives especially with a gun. That's why I don't understand some of the incidents where people are so outraged over the police shooting a person aiming a gun at them. How can you be mad and blame it all on the officers when they are not the only ones armed. It's kinda hypocritical like saying it's not ok to protect yourself but it is ok for someone to put your life in danger. You would expect those same officers to protect you if your life was in danger. You can not say a person aiming a weapon at someone is innocent and the officer has no reason to shoot if the suspect is not innocent and is the reason the whole situation is happening. Come on that makes no sense. What also makes no sense is for all these babies out there that get caught in the useless unnecessary gun violence. Our country needs to do way better and needs to work together. My prayers go out to all who lost actual innocent loved ones.

@@tubbs2132 and if there were absolutely no reason at all for that person to point a gun at you then you would be justified as are the police. I have a really simple fix for the problem and that's PEOPLE NEED TO GROW UP AND GET JOBS AND STOP BREAKING THE DAMN LAW. People who have been in and out of jail due to their own stupidity can not blame cops or anyone else yet it's mostly those same people who hate cops so much. Stop fucking up and doing shit that put you on law enforcement radar and we may not have as many issues. No it is NOT all about race either if it were then every person of color that were shot would have absolutely no criminal record at all but that's not the case and when a law enforcement agent sees that the person has a criminal background they are going to understandably take extra precautions no matter the race.

Relax bro, she's not being able to think clearly from the tragic loss of her child. If you ever were put into the situation (which I hope to god you never are) you'd forget your months and simple addition and plenty more as well. Unless you are completely perfect (which you're not cause you are not above god and only he can judge), do not pass judgement on someone else. Especially if you yourself have never been in that situation. Even if you have been in that situation everyone reacts differently, so in that case, you still can not pass judgement on someone else. Think before you comment on something. You might be offending the very person or someone else.
