I know this is extra dramatised to make it more interesting compared to real life firefighting, but watching this makes me think “damn, if real life firefighting is a quarter as intense and dangerous as this is every episode then I could never be a firefighter!” Gotta respect firefighters man!

I think whether it is more or less intense depends on what the real firefighters think about this show. Honestly though, from a normal person's perspective, it might not be as fierce but from the professionals in the job's view, it could just be that nerve-racking.

Many of this shows stories are based on actual incidents and as a firefighter I can say parts of this show are quite realistic but other parts are very obviously dramatised however I am a U.K. firefighter so can’t attest to how accurate they are with regards to policy etc.

@@AisOk-kv2ou no, this is unfortunately show biz. Some of their stuff is realistic like the car crashes and stuff but fires on this show tend to be somewhat unrealistic

AzNightmare some pieces of metal Which is easy to catch on fire if put with the right things Normally used to intentionally set a fire Which indicates arson Other flammable things are used also All you got to do is look up arson on internet and it gives a good definition and what can be used But it has to do with intentionally setting a fire

actually most of the time it's real fire, the actors are given firefighting training, they wear real gear and they shoot on what they call the fire stage with real fire.

4:51 - Latter sitting on window ledge, a full foot or so away from the edge. 5:17 - Latter suddenly is inches from edge, suddenly sitting on crumbling concrete. Because the two firefighters and two paramedics on the other side couldn't hold the simple 20-30 pound latter in place....

Why put the ladder so close to the edge? Or why not check if it moved too close to the edge before stepping on it? I know it's a stressful situation but these guys are professionals with years of experience.

In the apartment block I live in, my kitchen door is a fire door and the windows in the public stairwell open automatically if the fire alarm goes off. There are also smoke alarms in all the rooms bar the bathroom.

This is why real firemen start by pouring water onto the adjacent buildings instead of standing around with a 'grimly determined' look on their faces. At any given time, Boden has half a dozen firemen standing around and doing nothing.
